41 Players begin this morning at the famous course located at Myrtle Beach National King North Course. One of Mr Palmers most desired courses. Course was in perfect condition and needless to say their staff was amazing. We had all groups of at their scheduled times on both sides. Thanks to all of the players for making this our best Pace of Play so far this year. We averaged 4:28 per group with the highest finishing in 4:36.
Division 1 had 4 competitors and they let the oldest one in the group take the title. Chris Collins playing in his first event of the season carded 77 (+5), Ethan Hood finished 2nd. Ethan playing in only his second event with APT and has a win and a Runner-up.
Division 2 winner found a game he hasn't had in quite some time. Travis (Elvis) Powell fired an impressive 72 even par for his round. He has been playing with me for several years and this was his best round by far. Look out Div 1!!! He is headed that way shortly!! Let's wish him good luck, he will taking his Players Ability Test (PAT) Monday and Tuesday at the Hackler Course. He is changing careers and has been accepted in the PGA Apprentice and Management program at Coastal Carolina. Tom Baccari (Owner of the Grand Strand Tour) playing in his first event of the season, kept on his heels after a rough start and carded 3 birdies on the way in to finish at 75 (+3) Don Sheads continued to impress coming in 3rd at +7 while one of our 2 visitors from Virginia Capital Chapter Darren Blackwell +12 finishing 4th.
Division 3 saw Tim Frisch recently out of the hospital with some blockage problem fired an amazing 84 to win by 2 strokes over Phil McNelis. Jack Sudol finished 3rd by losing to Phil in the playoff.
Division 4 had Richard Hood playing in only his 2nd event of the season carded a 88 +16 to win by 2 over Brain Raymond who has already taken one title this season. Alan Reynolds continued his stellar play finishing 3rd.
Division 5, with no surprise, saw James (Dodd) Daniel win and take his 3rd title of the season. shooting a 90 +18. Welcome to Division 4 Mr. Dodd
For Seniors, we had are largest number of the season playing so far.
Division 2 We had 5 players participating and Mr Don Sheads 79 +7 takes the win. Travis Warluff 2nd , and Greg Bender coming in 3rd.
Division 3 had 6 players and of course Tim Frisch shooting a 84 edged out Jack Sudol for the win. Fred DArgenio rounded out the top 3.
Division 4 had 5 players and Richard Hood playing in his second event for the season carded a 88 to beat 1 time winner on the tour Brian Raymond by 2 strokes. Alan Reynolds finished 3rd.
Division 5 was won by James (Dodd Daniels) 90 +18. Bruce Shively finished 2nd and Calvin Beckman rounding out the top 3.
