Larry Lee is the Chapter Owner for the Charleston/Hilton Head, Upstate South Carolina, and Western North Carolina chapters of the Amateur Players Tour. He served four years in the United States Air Force before beginning a 37-year career with Duke Energy as a Nuclear Chemistry Specialist, eventually advancing to Senior Nuclear Scientist at Catawba Nuclear Station. His involvement in competitive amateur golf began in 1997, when he started organizing tournaments. Over the years, he operated six amateur tours with more than 750 members. Running the APT chapters across Charleston / Hilton Head, Upstate South Carolina, and Western North Carolina has become the most meaningful part of his tournament experience. These chapters are a family operation, managed alongside his wife, Diane, and their son, AJ. Hosting APT events has brought them strong friendships, steady camaraderie, and a community atmosphere they value every season.
