The Upstate SC Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour held its eighth tournament of the season at Cherokee National GC. 70 players took on the fast greens, hidden shots and knowing where to place your shots.
In Division 1, we had 20 players (Largest Ever in the Upstate Tour) compete for the Championship. Scott Roberts (Lancaster, SC) used four birdies to fire a 1-under for the win. Conner finished the round with a solid 71. Second place was claimed by Darryl Phelps (Columbia, SC) with a 72.

In Division 2, Jason Breedlove (Bessemer City, NC) was able to hold off Bobby Ream (Greenville, SC) and Carlos Mojica (Glenville, NC) in a battle that saw a few holes determine the outcome. Jason finished with a 75, which had four birdies. Bobby & Carlos finished with 78’s.

In Division 3 we had 11 players battle in a quest to become a Champion. William Buie (Greenville, SC) a front nine 35 but had trouble on the back nine and finished with a 81 to claim the championship. Mary Forest Graham (Shelby, NC) finished in Second place with an impressive 83 and Freddie Coffey (Statesville, NC) had a 85 for Third Place.

In Division 4, Joe Lee (Gaffney, SC) used a front nine 38 to but the round was not over as Tim Driggers (Irmo, SC) forced Joe into a playoff. The senior Joe Lee (75 years old) held off Tim to claim his first victory. Following Joe and Tim in third place was Gregg Pruitt (Roebuck, SC) with a solid 82.

In Division 5 Ronnie Bennet (Ocoee, TN) was able to hold off a field of 18 players with an impressive 84. Finishing in second place was John Greider (Gaston, SC) and Colby Crow (Gaffney, SC) with 89’s.

Senior Net Championship
The Senior Net competition is a new competition for those players 50 years of age or older. Congratulations to Ronnie Bennett (Ocoee, TN) for a 4 under round of 68 and his first-place win. Finishing in second place was Joe Lee (Gaffney, SC) with a 3 under 69. Jacob Sigmon (Shelby, NC) fired a 1 under 71 to finish in third place.
