Royal Manchester Golf Links does not disappoint. The wind is usually a factor on every shot and Saturday was no different. The current bunker remodel caused trouble for some and a blessing for others. Smart play and accuracy were the key to the day. Overall, this was an amazing event that was only topped by great trophies and a huge prize pool for those who placed at the top.

    DIVISION 1

Jordan Eck, playing out of Williamsport won the day with a steady pace and a final score of Par-72. Any missteps were quickly corrected with tap in birdies and an eagle on hole 9. Jordan took home the D1 trophy and first place prize of $375. Jordan also earned 2 Division skins, 1 super skin, and on hole #2 he was the closest to the pin, 4 feet from the hole. In 2nd place with a final score of 76, from the Maryland Chapter APT was Ian Patterson. He earned $185 plus 1 Division skin.

    DIVISION 2

The D2 race was down to wire with Steve Hilt (York, PA) coming out on top at a final of 81. The 18th is a daunting hole that was ultimately the deciding factor for this division. Hilt brought home the trophy and $565 when the smoke cleared. Cassidy Salvador was a close second with a score of 82 only 1 behind. Salvador earned $275 and 1 Div. skin.

    DIVISION 3

The biggest prize pool of the day with 27 competitors chasing the cup. A whopping $945 was in play for a first-place finish. Larry Barber from Paulsboro, NJ had a stellar round of golf to top D3 with a final of 82 and 1 birdie on #14 to earn a skin. The second spot went to Chuck Nimmo (VA) with a total of 83. Nimmo took home $475 with his close finish. Our very own, Rick Knepp from Bellefonte, PA finished in 3rd with a final of 84, and a prize of $285. Rick also had 1 Super and 1 Division skin. 4th place was a tie between Brandon Buchannon (Harrisburg, PA) and Rob Bertazon (White Hall, MD). Buchannon took 1 super and 3 division skins and Bertazon had 1 super and 2 division skins.

    DIVISION 4

Skylar Holmes closed the show in D4 with a total of 84 to win the top spot, trophy and $880. He played a steady round by limiting any major damage and keeping triples off the card. In 2nd place with a score of 87 was Raymond Naperkowski (Pringle, PA). Naperkowski took $370 and also had 1 Div skin. Josh King (Manheim, PA) and Zack Plude (Bensalem, PA) finished in a tie for 3rd place to split $220.

    DIVISION 5

This was a toss-up till the very end, and the last few holes were the deciding factor. When the smoke cleared, Scott Lutton claimed the 1st place trophy, $470, and 2 skins with a score of 94. In second place we had a tie between Jeremiah Cassidy (2 div skins) and Robert Hertzog (1 div skin), both battling out of Ephrata, PA. They finished with a final score of 98 and split $230.

    MID-AM NET

This competition came down to a tie at the end of play for first place. The deciding factor was to be determined by a score card playoff. Both Skylar Holmes and John Amos finished with Net scores of -1 (71). The back 9 holes were the deciding factor, and Amos earned the trophy by 3 strokes.
