Cumberland Trail Golf Club Tournament Results

At Cumberland Trail Golf Club we had 35 golfers come to play in our 7th event of the year.  After a lot of rain, the night before the course was very soft and led to players firing at all pins.  There were several birdies made throughout the field and even one eagle on the par 5 16th.     

In Division 2 Tyson Spence went back-to-back in his second Amateur Players Tour season with a victory.  Tyson was extremely consistent putting up a even par 36 with 2 birdies and a double bogey on the front.  He then followed that up with 8 pars and a bogey on the back to come in with 37 and a winning score of 73.  Austin Decot went out in 38 and then finished strong with 36 highlighted by birdies on 15 and 16 to shoot 74.  Austin just narrowly missed a birdie putt on 18 that would have been for a playoff.  Matt Beeman shot 75 for 3rd which was highlighted by the eagle on the par 5 16th. 

In Division 3 Anna Crumrine was incredibly impressive in her Amateur Players tour debut.  She went out in 38 and then posted 1 birdie and 1 bogey on the back for 36 and the low score of 74.  This impressive round will also lead to a promotion to Division 2.  Steve Phillips and Michael Bruesch tied for 2nd with 79.  Colin Crumrine shot 80 for 4th in his Amateur Players Tour debut.  

In Division 4 Zach Walker came out on fire parring 4 of his first 5 holes and finished his round of with an impressive par on 18 that would end up being a division skin for 4 and 5.  Zach posted 85 for the winning score.  Chris Berry who also started out hot with 39 on the front would end up posting 86 for second.  Robert Lawless and Dan Campbell both shot 87 to tie for third. 

In Division 5 two players separated themselves from the rest of the field.  Brandon Turner and Nadine LaRoche were neck and neck the whole day.  In fact, they would both shoot 44 on the front and 46 on the back.  Due to a lack of daylight the two would go to a usga scorecard playoff where Brandon would prevail with a lower last 6 holes.  Nadine would finish in 2nd after the scorecard playoff.  Dalton Devine shot 98 for 3rd place.   

In the Senior Net optional side game Rick Williamson shot a net 73 (77 gross) to take a 1 shot victory.  Rick’s round was highlighted by 11 gross pars with 1 gross birdie.  Michael Bruesch shot a net 74 for 2nd place.  Chris Wikle shot a net 76 to come in 3rd.
