Eagle Knoll provided an excellent challenge for our golfers on a beautiful, but hot Missouri Sunday afternoon. The golfers who were able to manage the expectations of their own game and remain with themselves found themselves raising trophies at the end of the day.
Division 1
The newly promoted Cole Lehmen put on a show of force. He quickly took the lead with a steady string of pars, and never relinquished control of the contest. A few stumbles on the back 9, but his competitors were unable to capitalize. Cole Lehmen won with a (+6) 78.
Division 2
Luke Elbrader jumped out to a convincing lead making birdie on 2 of the first 4 holes. A stumble on 7 and 8 provided an opportunity for challengers to get back in the mix. The back 9 of Eagle Knoll didn’t allow for any golfer to make any significant move up the leaderboard. Luke Elbrader held on to win with a (+10) 82.
Division 3
It was a real dog fight in Division 3. Les Edwards had a one-shot lead over Ed Thomas going in to the back 9. The challenging back 9 of Eagle Knoll shook up the leaderboard, as we had multiple lead changes coming in to the stretch. It was Twig Wood with a come from behind victory shooting a (+12) 84 to secure his third victory in a row.
Division 4
Anthony Ross led most of the front 9. Anthony had a one-shot lead over Robert Rosenbaum going into the back 9. It was some key bogey saves on the back 9 that would propel our eventual winner to victory. Robert Rosenbaum secured the victory with a (+26) 98.
Division 5
It was a mere three strokes that separated Jim Seibert from two of his closest competitors going in to the back 9. Eagle Knoll would not allow any ground to be made up by Jim’s competitors on the back 9. Jim would fend off a late charge. Jim Seibert wins with a (+31) 103.
