The Smoky Mountain Chapter made it's 3rd local stop of the year at the Egwani Farms Golf Club. The players were welcomed to great weather and a firm and fast golf course that proved to be very challenging for most of the field.
Div 1- Tim Saunders made it back to back victories with his impressive 8 shot win that included a pair of 38s on both sides for a 4 over 76. Matt Crowder finished 2nd with an 84.
Div 2- Johnny Pierce earned his 1st victory of the season by recording a 10 over, 82. Pierce was around the top of the leaderboard from start to finish but managed to pull away from the field on the back 9. Johnny said his swing didn't feel that good but his short game was on point and he managed to save par multiple times on a day when pars were very good. Joseph Stoddard finished 2nd with an 88.
Div 3- Randy Redden got himself into the winner's circle for the first time in 2021 with the 2nd best score of the entire day. Redden finished with a 7 over, 79 which included a 38 on the back. Chris Beeler finished 8 strokes back with an 87.
Div 4- The lone playoff of the day occurred in Division 4. Paul Harris posted a respectable 15 over 87 a few groups ahead of Ronnie Bennett. Bennett who lead down the stretch suffered a double bogey on the par 3, 17th. After being behind a tree for his 3rd shot on the par 5 finishing hole, Bennett saved par with an unbelievable up and down to force extra holes. Both players bogeyed the 1st playoff hole but it was Harris who came out on top on the 20th hole of the day to earn his first victory of young season.
Div 5- Daniel England shot his best round of the year with an 15 over, 87 in route to a 6 stroke victory of Scottie Whitmire. Whitmire challanged England all the way through the mid point of the back 9 but it was England who pulled away late with his steady play and great birdie on the difficult par 3, 14th.
