Cool, windy weather greeted the Memphis/Mid-South APT at Cypress View in Marion, AR on Saturday, March 26th for our second event of the season. 50 players teed it up at the vaunted Blue Monster (water comes into play on 17 of 18 holes!!!)
Division 1 saw a familiar face at the top of the leaderboard. Ed McDugle made 3 birdies en route to his one over par 73 and his second win in as many events on the Memphis/Mid-South tour for 2022. Josh Caldwell matched McDugle’s 3 birdies with three of his own, but untimely double bogeys on #11 and #12 ultimately became too much to overcome. Caldwell finished second at five over par. Mel Davis finished one shot behind Caldwell with a six over par 78 for third place.
Division 2 was commandeered by local and APT guest player Bradley Blanchard. Blanchard took home the hardware in D2 with a nine over par 81 on his home course. New tour member Tyler Madlom finished second, only one shot back at ten over par 82. Long time tour member Paul Luker came in third in D2, only one shot behind second place with an eleven over par 83.
Division 3 also saw a player win his second trophy of the season as new tour member John Gathings shot a 13 over par 85 to win his second event in as many tries. Elisha Payne finished second with a fifteen over par 87 and Keith Nuckolls finished 3rd with an 88.
Jason Bucher (88) cruised to a 6 shot win over Ken Pieczonka (94) in Division 4. Wedgewood winner Aundra Miller finished 3rd with a 95, only one shot behind second place.
Division 5 had a pretty good battle going between Gary Dulaney and Trey Horrell. Dulaney persevered the conditions to bring home the prize money and trophy with a 96, while Horrell only finished 3 shots back. Gary’s son Denver shot 101 to finish in 3rd.
Our next event is Monday, April 4th at the East Course on the private club at Windyke Country Club!
