The APT Memphis Chapter returned to one of its premier venues this past Sunday at Mirimichi Golf Club, where players were met with pristine course conditions and a challenging championship layout. Known for its fast greens and strategic design, Mirimichi once again proved to be a true test, rewarding consistency and penalizing mistakes.
With strong fields across all divisions, the competition delivered standout performances — including multiple under-par rounds and tightly contested leaderboards as players continued their push for Player of the Year points early in the season.
Division 1
Division 1 delivered one of the top performances of the day as Edward McDugle fired an impressive 70 (-2) to claim the victory. McDugle’s under-par round set the tone and proved to be the number to beat.
Luke Smith finished in second at even par (72), while Spencer Cultra followed in third with a 74 (+2).
Avery Stansell placed fourth at 77 (+5), and Jeremy Jean-Marie rounded out the top five with a 79 (+7).
Division 2
In Division 2, Michael Lynn of Nashville took home the win with a solid 76 (+4), holding off a competitive field.
Caleb Goodwin finished second with a 79 (+7), while Jeff Avant continued his strong season with a third-place finish at 80 (+8).
Paul Luker finished fourth at 82 (+10), followed by Fidel Diaz at 85 (+13).
Division 3
Division 3 saw Kenny Swann claim the victory with an 84 (+12), edging out a competitive field.
Jon Sylvester finished just one shot back at 85 (+13) to take second place, continuing his consistent play across events.
A three-way tie for third included Ken Grisham, Mike Paubel, and Jim Atkinson, each posting 86 (+14).
Iceman Clark followed in sixth with an 87 (+15), while a group of players tied for seventh at 90 (+18) including Kevin Brown, Robert Derbyshire, and Rob Luter.
Division 4
Bart Watkins led Division 4 with a winning score of 89 (+17), putting together a strong round to secure the title.
Chris Jones finished second at 93 (+21), while Ken Pieczonka claimed third with a 94 (+22).
Phillip Miles and Ryan Morse rounded out the top five with scores of 95 (+23) and 96 (+24) respectively.
Division 5
Division 5 saw Michael Kelly take home the win with a 91 (+19) after a steady round.
Tyler Byrd finished second with a 96 (+24), followed by Steven Walkley in third at 98 (+26).
Linda Wallace placed fourth with a 101 (+29) to complete the leaderboard.
Mid-Am Net
In the Mid-Am Net division, Geoffrey King secured the victory with a 79 (+7).
Steven Walkley finished second at 82 (+10), while Mason Hester placed third with a 93 (+21).
Senior Net
The low round of the day came in the Senior Net division as Edward McDugle continued his dominant performance, firing a 69 (-3) to claim another victory.
Rodney Gillentine followed with a strong 71 (-1) to take second place, while Ken Grisham finished third at 73 (+1).
Mike Paubel placed fourth with a 74 (+2), and Jon Sylvester rounded out the top five with a 75 (+3).
Final Thoughts
The Mirimichi event once again showcased the depth of talent across the APT Memphis Chapter. With under-par rounds, tight finishes, and strong performances across all divisions, the race for Player of the Year is already heating up.
