Our inaugural tournament on the Amateur Players Tour is in the books! 78 players teed it up on Saturday with soggy conditions and the threat of steady rain. The golf gods were kind to us and we are thankful to avoid the showers and be able to finish and decide winners. Thanks again to all that played and we look forward to seeing you at Ted Rhodes on Saturday, March 27th.
Division 1
Ramsey Kimbrough from the Smoky Mountain Chapter posted three birdies en route to the low-round of the day of -1 to win by two strokes. David Apperson from the Memphis Chapter also had three birdies, but a double-bogey late in his round derailed his chances to win. David takes second at +1. Memphis Chapter’s Ed McDugle takes home third place with a round of 74 (+3).
Division 2
Music City’s Steve Reigle “comes out of retirement” to capture his first win on tour with a two-stroke victory over Memphis Chapter member, Ronnie Fowler. Ronnie was in-the-hunt after his first nine holes. A string of bogeys on this final nine pushed him back to a second place finish. Amateur Players Tour National Owner and Music City Chapter member, Jody Barrett, takes third with 78.
Division 3
The Music City Chapter swept the podium. Ryan Lansfield played consistent golf throughout the round to shoot 78 to score a two-stroke win over Dickson County’s own, Lowe Prescott and Cage Ellis from Springfield. Both players posted rounds of 81.
Division 4
Music City’s Matt Parker and Sammy Sedman from the Smoky Mountain Chapter were paired together for the round and they battled to the final hole. On their final hole, Matt staved off Sammy’s final charge to emerge victorious with a one-stroke victory. Music City’s Tony Todd takes the 3rd place gift card with a scorecard playoff decision over Music City’s Scott Lansfield.
Division 5
Music City’s Mason Powers holds on for a one-stroke victory over Memphis Chapter member, Jason Bucher. Mason, who eagled the par 5 fifth, did not finish his round like he wanted as he was being chased by Jason down-the-stretch to make it close. Music City’s Thurman Boyd was also in-the-mix, but last hole was not kind to him. Thurman finishes two strokes back in 3rd place.
