This weekend The Arkansas-Amateur Players Tour visited the #1 Public Golf Course in Arkansas, Mystic Creek Golf Club. We had 35 players from across Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The weather was perfect, with nothing but sunshine and temps in the high 70’s. Mystic Creek delivered the 35 players that steeped on to the course an unforgettable memory and challenge, with the rolling hills and tree lined fairways and bunkers protecting every green.
In Division 1, Carson Garner would take the victory as he shot a 4 over par (76) at his very first Amateur Players Tour event. David Apperson would finish in second place posting a (85). Mel Davis would finish in third place posting a (90).
In Division 2 things got interesting As Jeff Avant from the Memphis Chapter and Mark Brailey from the Arkansas Chapter would find themselves in a playoff for first place. Both posting a great score of (86). As they took off to replay the #1 hole a par 5. Jeff Avant would find himself with a two-putt par for the win over Mark Brailey to become the Division 2 Champion at Mystic Creek. Steve Chamblee would take the third-place spot in Division 2 posting a score of (88).
In Division 3 things got tight down the stretch as Bruce Upton posted a (91) and would hold on to take the win over Elisha Payne by one shot. Elisha Payne would post a score of (92) to take second place over LR Garner who took third place by posting a score of (93).
In Division 4 the scores continue to stay tight, as New Arkansas Chapter Member Kenneth Taylor would post a score of (93) to take the win over another new member of the Arkansas Chapter Jon Nutt, who posted a (94) to take second place. Jason Llyod would finish in third place posting a score of (98).
In Division 5 Jeff Corder would take the win posting a (101) as we found ourselves in a scorecard playoff between Mike Pittroff and Jordan Kimbriel who both turned in a final score of (106), going to back nine total first. Mike Pittroff from St. Louis would post a (50) on back nine to over take Jordan Kimbriel’s back nine score of (55), giving Jordan Kimbriel the third place spot in our final group of the day.
