Utah, USA -- The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour has officially released their upcoming tournament schedule for the 2021 Season. The slate features an amazing collection of golf courses throughout Utah and beyond, mixing in public & private courses, from the mountains, deserts, valleys, and everywhere in between.
Members of the APT will compete all season long for prize purses and accumulate points towards the APT Rocky Mountain Player of the Year race (by division) as well as qualifying for the APT North America Tour Championship at Pinehurst Resort, NC.
Locally, the Rocky Mountain Chapter features tournaments at 5 private access golf venues; Old Southwood, Jeremy Ranch G&CC, Logan CC, Hubbard Hill AFB, and Oakridge CC who will host the final round of our 2021 Rocky Mountain Tour Championship.
Several public courses that are fan favorites are gracing our schedule this season as the APT heads to Copper Rock, Glen Eagle GC, Thanksgiving Point, Glenmoor GC, Soldier Hollow, TalonsCove, Davis Park, Stonebridge GC, and Valley View GC.
You’ll have the opportunity to compete at a number of golf resorts, both in Utah and across the USA with our regional partners as well in 2021, as we’ve been invited to Paiute, Orange County National, Sand Hollow, Whistling Straits, and Pinehurst Resorts.
Every tournament will be a unique offering to be enjoyed by our members, with differing formats and lots of fun to be found all year long. Check out our full schedule here with all tournaments opening for registration on December 1st!
Here is a quick snapshot of each of our tournaments we have planned for our members in 2021:
- Western Winter Warfare - January 16-17th – Paiute Golf Resort (Las Vegas, NV)
A “Ryder Cup” weekend in which teams from Arizona, Southern California, and the Rocky Mountain Chapters will face off with three rounds of golf on Saturday/Sunday. Saturday will feature 18-hole Fourball matches, 9-hole Modified Alternate Shot Matches, and Sunday Singles Match. - Orange County National 2-Man - January 30-31st – OCN (Orlando, FL)
Grab a friend and head to the backyards of Walt Disney World to enjoy the Florida sun and golf with a regional event hosted by the Amateur Players Tour. - Red Rock Championship - March 19-20th – Copper Rock / Sand Hollow (Hurricane)
36 holes of stroke play golf; we’ll crown our division champions with the coveted “Red Rock” trophies. Join us for the first round at the brand-new Copper Rock GC and finish off the final round at the #1 ranked public golf course in Utah, Sand Hollow Championship course for a Friday/Saturday tournament just outside St. George, UT. - Single Day Soiree at Glen Eagle - April 10th – Glen Eagle GC (Syracuse)
An island green awaits players on the Par-5 18th as members will enjoy a single-day, 18-hole tournament at Glen Eagle GC. - T-Point Two-Man Marathon - April 24th – Thanksgiving Point (Lehi)
36 holes of a golf marathon await the best of 2-man teams on this Saturday in which we’ll take over Thanksgiving Point GC. Players will compete with a partner between 18-36 holes in four 9-hole rounds. The first round will be a 9-hole best ball net seeding round, the second round will be a 9-hole best ball match play, the third round will be a 9-hole alternate shot match play with cuts coming after rounds 2 and 3. The final round will feature a 9-hole aggregate net score to determine our champion. - Timpanogos 45 - May 14-15th – Timpanogos GC (Provo)
45 holes of golf with a “dark” twist over two days. This re-designed and newly re-opened gem will feature two 18-hole rounds on the championship course on Friday and Saturday, with an evening 9-holes being played on the pasture course on Friday night under the lights. All 45 holes will count towards crowning our division winners. - Memorial Day at Hill AFB - Memorial Day Weekend – Hubbard GC (Hill AFB)
What better place to spend Memorial Day Weekend than on the grounds of Hill Air Force Base, amongst the roars of fighter jets and good golf. We’ll honor our military members with a USA themed weekend, competing over 18 holes of golf on the private access military installation. Exact day of play TBD in January. - APT at The Glenmoor - June 13th – Glenmoor Golf Club (South Jordan)
An 18-hole stroke play tournament at the oft-requested, Glenmoor GC. A great chance to add some points from this single-day Sunday tournament as the summer competition begins to ramp up. - APT at The Jeremy - June 21st – Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club (Park City)
A private club opportunity for our members awaits on Monday afternoon, as we head to the upper elevations of the Wasatch Mountains to play an 18-hole stroke play competition at Jeremy Ranch G&CC. - Whistling Straits - July 3- 4th – Whistling Straits / Blackwolf Run (Kohler, WI)
Compete on the #3 ranked Public Golf Course in the entire USA, just two months before the pros compete when the USA takes on Team Europe in the Ryder Cup. 36-holes of stroke play competition will crown division winners at the end of a once in a lifetime experience, hosted by APT national office. - Mid-Season Mountain Melee - July 16-17th – Soldier Hollow GC (Midway)
We’ll seek the cooler temperatures and higher elevations in mid-summer for two days and 36 holes of stroke play golf at Soldier Hollow Golf. One round each, playing both the silver and gold courses. - Playoffs Event #1 - August 7th – TalonsCove (Saratoga Springs)
We’ll open the playoffs portion of our season, featuring increased prize pools and more points on the line, with a single-day, 18-hole stroke play event at TalonsCove. A links-style course played along the western shore of Utah Lake, our players will enjoy this final opportunity to play in Utah County. - Playoffs Event #2 - August 23rd – Logan Country Club (Logan)
The playoffs moves north to Cache County with a Monday opportunity at the private, Logan Country Club. 18 holes of stroke play with an elevated purse and bigger points allocation. - Rocky Mtn Team Rumble - September 17-19th – Stonebridge GC (West Valley City)
A “Ryder Cup” weekend for our chapter to break into two teams and compete in best ball, alternate shot, and single matches all weekend long. Players will earn points for team wins/losses as well as wins/halves in their own matches. - RM Chapter Championship - October 1-3rd – DPGC, VVGC, OCC (Davis County)
Our local season will wrap-up with our Rocky Mountain Chapter Championship on the first weekend of October. 54-holes will determine our ultimate accomplishment on tour, our Player of the Year winners as well as settle qualification criteria for the APT North America Tour Championship at Pinehurst. The first two rounds will be played at Davis Park GC and Valley View GC. After those 36 holes, we’ll cut the field to the Top 5 in each division and they’ll compete on the final 18 holes at the private Oakridge Country Club on Sunday. **In addition to the top 5 in each division from the tournament scores, there will be additional golfers in the field who have earned exemptions from their play all year long, resulting in a max field of 36 golfers who will compete for all the marbles at the site of Utah’s only PGA Tour stop. - 2021 APT North America Tour Championship - October 25-27th – Pinehurst Resort (Pinehurst, NC)
Compete on one of the world’s most renowned competitive golf venues at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
