    The Amateur Players Tour’s Midwest Open at French Lick Resort delivered a showcase of one of the great classic layouts in the country and one of the best modern courses of this generation. The Donald Ross Course, a 1917 classic, features wide fairways, strategic bunkers, and undulating greens, embodying Ross’s philosophy of challenging yet fair play. Meanwhile, the Pete Dye Course, opened in 2009, offers dramatic elevation changes, narrow fairways, and stunning vistas. 120 players traveled from all over the country to tee it up at the tour’s final Signature Major of the season.

    In Division 1, Blake Claycomb of Vincennes, IN, emerged victorious with a stellar -3 finish, carding rounds of 70 and 69 to total 139. Tony Wise from Georgetown, KY, took second place at +2, with rounds of 71 and 73 totaling 144. Derek Nicholson of Owens Cross Roads, AL, secured third place at +3, finishing with 70 and 75 for a total of 145. John Todd from Wright City, MO, finished fourth at +5, posting rounds of 71 and 76 for a total of 147.

    In Division 2, Joshua Brooks from Lexington, KY, claimed first place with a total score of +12, shooting 75 at the Donald Ross course and 79 at the Pete Dye course for a total of 154. The second-place tie featured three competitors at +14: Paul Hess from Lincoln University, PA (78-78), Cliff Austin from Lenexa, KS (77-79), and Josh DeJarnette from Herrin, IL (76-80), each totaling 156. Trenton Matthews from Annapolis, IL, and Brian Vance from Eddyville, IA, both tied for fifth at +15, with scores of 157.

    In Division 3, Ralph Allen from Belleville, IL, and Mike Burnett from Murfreesboro, TN, both finished at +21, tying for first place with total scores of 163. Allen shot rounds of 78 at the Donald Ross course and 85 at the Pete Dye course, while Burnett recorded 82 and 81. It came down to a sudden death playoff and Allen emerged victorious after the first playoff hole. Matt Miller from Fort Mill, SC, and Jason Stone from St. Peters, MO, tied for third place at +23, each totaling 165. Miller carded rounds of 82 and 83, and Stone had rounds of 77 and 88.

    In Division 4, Rocky Metcalfe from Kansas City, MO, emerged as the champion with a total score of +26, posting rounds of 83 at the Donald Ross course and 85 at the Pete Dye course for a total of 168. Stephen Williams from Chesterfield, MO, secured second place at +31 with rounds of 84 and 89, totaling 173. Cliff Austin from Independence, MO, finished third at +34 with rounds of 85 and 91, totaling 176. Chris Louth from Ohio, and Brandon Long from Hartsville, SC, tied for fourth place at +36, both finishing with scores of 178.

    In Division 5, Mike Eames of North Ogden, UT, claimed the top spot with a total score of +41, recording rounds of 88 at the Donald Ross course and 95 at the Pete Dye course, finishing with a total of 183. Shannon Sageser from Georgetown, KY, secured second place with +47, scoring 91 and 98 for a total of 189. Arthur Miller Jr. from Lakeland, TN, finished third with +54, posting rounds of 92 and 104, totaling 196. Abigail Brooks from Lexington, KY, rounded out the top four with +57, recording scores of 96 and 103 for a total of 199.

    The Senior Net Competition at the Amateur Players Tour Midwest Open at French Lick Resort was a thrilling display of skill and strategy. Ralph Allen from Belleville, IL, claimed victory with an impressive -6 finish, posting rounds of 64 at the Donald Ross course and 72 at the Pete Dye course for a total of 136. A four-way tie for second place featured Jason Stone, Brian Vance, Barney Sutley, and Tony Wise, each finishing at -2 with a total score of 140. Daryl Wolff closely followed in sixth place with -1, scoring 141. Michael Konuch and Larry Weilbaker tied for seventh at even par, each totaling 142.

    In the Open Net Competition, Rocky Metcalfe from Kansas City, MO, emerged victorious with a stellar performance, finishing at -4 with rounds of 67 at the Donald Ross course and 71 at the Pete Dye course, totaling 138. Following closely was Mike Eames from North Ogden, UT, who finished at -1, posting rounds of 66 and 75 for a total of 141, securing the second spot. Paul Schmitz of Ewing, MO, claimed third place with an even-par finish, scoring 66 and 76 to total 142.
