2024 Persimmon Woods Golf Club Results

The St. Louis chapter hosted a “Monday After the Major” event at one of the top private clubs in the St. Louis area – Persimmon Woods Golf Club in Weldon Spring.  As always, the course was in phenomenal shape for the 104-player sold out field, and would prove to be a good test for APT members.  Autohaus BMW was on-hand to display the 750e Hybrid Sedan.  Hot Shots Bar & Grill was officially welcomed to the APT Family as scoring and awards were done at the St. Charles location with lunch being provided for the players.

In Division 1, Ryan Eckelcamp returned to form, shooting a solid 1-over par 72 to earn a 3 shot victory over Dylan Davidson. Davidson shot 75 to continue his solid play over the weekend to earn solo 2^nd place honors.  Justin Towell and Michael Flynn finished in a tie for 3^rd place with rounds of 76.  On the senior side, Justin Towell takes home the title, defeating Michael Clark by 2 shots to earn his second senior title of the year with a 76.

In Division 2, 18 holes would not be enough to decide a champion as Michael Mervis and Darin Mongler were tied at the end of regulation.  Mongler, who is the defending 2023 North American Champion, found himself in a similar situation on Sunday afternoon with Mike Lingenfelter on the 18^th green at the APT Public Links Championship.  Mike Mervis has been playing some good golf of late, and was looking to turn it into a victory.  The playoff reached the difficult par-4 second hole, where Mervis rolled in a birdie putt to earn the win.  Greg Miller continued his solid play with a solo 3^rd finish with a round of 81 and is looking for the elusive first victory in a crowded D2 field.  Jesse Vanvleeet finished in solo 4^th with a round of 83, while Bill Stuart, Mike Lingenfelter and Rich Haas (Chicago) tied for 5^th with rounds of 84.  On the senior side, Mike Mervis was victorious over Darin Mongler in a playoff.  Bill Stuart finished in 3^rd place with a 84.

In Division 3, Michael Foster from the Tulsa Chapter had himself a day, shooting an 80 to earn a 3 shot victory.  Mark Ralph finished in solo 2^nd, shooting an 83 to continue his great play and improve to 2^nd place in the Autohaus BMW St. Louis Local Player of the Year Race, just 25 points behind leader Dave Baxmeyer. Matt Wilson finished in 3^rd position with a round of 85, while Dauffus Jackson rebounded from a tough start to finish in solo 4^th with 86.  The Top 5 was rounded out by Matt Miller (Charlotte) and Tony Clark with rounds of 87.  On the senior side, Michael Foster completed the double dip, followed by Mark Ralph (2^nd) and Tony Clark (3^rd).

In Division 4, Stephen Williams shot his best round on the APT, an 82 that earned him a 3 shot win over Adam Haegele and APT Publinks Champion Zach Terry, who tied for 2^nd with an 85.  4^th place went to Dee Eaton, who finished with an 86, while 5^th place went to Dolly Buenaventura who finished with a round of 88.  On the senior side, 2022 GlobalGolf.com Senior Player of the Year Dolly Buenaventura earned the victory, firing an 88 to earn a 2-shot victory over Matt Hall.  Mike Moynihan finished in solo 3^rd with a round of 91.

In Division 5, Dane Kearns had been knocking on the door all season trying to get his first win on Tour, and now was the opportunity.  Kearns turned in his best round on tour, an impressive 89 to earn a 3-shot victory over Jim Seibert and Josh Burnett, who has been one of the St. Louis chapters most consistent players this season.  Burnett’s T-2 finish allowed him to jump into the lead in the Autohaus BMW St. Louis Local Player of the Year Race at the halfway mark in the season.  Roger Eberlein finished in 4^th place with a round of 99, while Leo Chmielewski finished in solo 5^th with a round of 100.  On the senior side, Jim Seibert returned to the winners circle with an impressive round of 92 and a 7-shot victory over Roger Eberlein.

In the Open Net competition, Stephen Williams dominated putting up an impressive 5-under net 67 with his best round on tour.  Adam Haegele finished in 2^nd place with a round of 71, while Chad Crawford finished in 3^rd place with a round of 73, and Michael Clark finished in 4^th place with a round of 74.
