2024 Pevely Farms Golf Tournament Results

For the second stop of the APT St. Louis season, the St. Louis chapter headed west to Eureka, MO for the challenging Pevely Farms Golf Club.  Pevely Farms is steeped in history, having hosted numerous championships in the St. Louis area, and presents a challenging layout that navigates the hilly terrain with big elevation changes, winding doglegs, and challenging green complexes.  The greens were rolling well and in fantastic shape for the early Spring event.  Autohaus BMW was on-site, showcasing their beautiful Mineral White BMW 840i Gran Coupe at the event. 

In Division 1, Michael Flynn returned to the Winner’s Circle, posting a 1-over 73 to best the field on a windy and blustery day by 4 shots.  John Todd, who also won the senior division, finished in solo 2^nd with a solid 5-over par round of 77 in tough conditions.  Third place went to a three-way tie between Colin Hall, Chad Crawford, and last week’s winner Alex Huber, who finished with rounds of 78. 

In Division 2, Jack Neenan separated himself from the field, shooting a solid 3-over par round of 75 earning himself a 5-shot victory.  With the great round, Neenan has earned a promotion to Division 1.  2^nd place went to Greg Garrett, Daniel Black and James Sills, who each shot rounds of 80.  Justin Clark and Danley Lanning rounded out the money with a tie for 5^th with rounds of 81.  Kevin Giese won the Senior Division with a round of 6-over par 78, with Greg Garrett finishing just 2 shots back with a round of 80 to round out the money. 

In Division 3, Brian Burnside bested Mark Ralph by one stroke, firing an 80 to earn a one-stroke victory over Ralph who finished in solo 2^nd place.  Joseph Burkitt finished in 3^rd with an 82.  There was a 4-way tie for 4^th to round out the money, with 84’s shot by Jeff Rainford, Jerry Vanover, Daniel Happel, and Kyle Shartzer. On the senior side, Brian Burnside completed the double-dip, besting Mark Ralph by 1 shot.  3^rd place was shared by Jeff Rainford and Daniel Happel, who finished 2-shots off the pace with rounds of 82. 

In Division 4, Jesse Baumann had a career day, firing a 78 to earn a 5-shot victory.  In his previous 76 tournament rounds on the APT, Baumann had never broken 80 in competition and as it turns out, Sunday would be his first time breaking 80 ever.  “It took me breaking 80 for the first time to make it happen, but I got my win.  It’s time for D3” said Baumann who is looking forward to the move up in divisions.  Jesse started with the APT in Division 5 in 2020 and has worked his way up from struggling to break 90 to his accomplishing his career best 78 on Sunday.  Congratulations Jesse on espousing what the APT is about and on your continuous improvement.  Go get em’ in Division 3!  2^nd place went to Matt Telander, Brad Sayre, and Scott Clavenna finished tied for 2^nd with great rounds of 83.  Paul Winters shot an 85 to round out the money in 5^th place.  On the senior side, Brad Sayre won in a playoff over Scott Clavenna, after both players shot rounds of 83. 

In Division 5, Josh Burnett was able to go back-to-back, but needed an extra hole to do it, after shooting an impressive 91.  Burnett earned the playoff victory over Kansas City’s Cliff Austin Jr., who fell just short after matching Burnett shot-for-shot during regulation.  3^rd place went to Mid Missouri’s JJ Gladden, who finished just one back after a round of 92.  Dane Kearns rounded out the money with a 95 to finish in solo 4^th.  In the Senior Division, Cliff Austin Jr. delivered a solid performance, shooting a 91 to earn a 6-shot victory over Tony Brose and James Nichols, who finished tied for 2^nd with rounds of 97. 

In Open Net, JJ Gladden shot an impressive 4-under par 68 to earn a 2 shot win over Tucker Jensen, who finished in solo 2^nd at 2-under par.  Brian Burnside finished in 3^rd with an even-par 72, while Brian Vance, Dave Draucker and Toby Chrzanowski rounded out the money in a tie for 4^th with 1-over par rounds of 73.  Chris Jones beat his Target Score of 37 with 39 stableford points to win a $125 WorldWide Golf Shops Gift Card and Dolly Buenaventura beat her Target Score of 35 with 36 stableford points to win a $55 WorldWide Golf Shops Gift Card. 

From here, the tour moves to the member-favorite Annbriar Golf Course on Sunday, April 7^th with a sold-out 160 player field.  Annbriar is preparing to host the Missouri Valley Conference Championships in a few weeks, and the golf course is in phenomenal shape for our event on Sunday.  Upcoming events with available spots include Birch Creek  on Sunday, April 14^th and the rescheduled Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville, IL on Monday, April 15^th.
