2024 President’s Reserve Golf Tournament Results

    The Nashville Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour visited another fan favorite in the Middle Tennessee area: President’s Reserve at Hermitage Golf Course.  117 players competed for contest prizes of over $4,500 and over $2,300 paid out in our optional side games.  

    Division 1 

    Columbus Chapter member, Justin Arens holes 6 birdies en route to 3-under 69 and a one-stroke victory.  Two players finish in a 2nd place tie. Nashville’s Joe Barron, who also posted 6 birdies and Towhee Club Champion and Signal Mountain’s Ted Saylors, who posted 9s of 38-32.  Both players finished at 2-under 70. 

    Division 2 

    Murfreesboro’s Chris Randolph captures his 2nd victory of the season with a one-stroke win over Columbia’s Frank Thomas II. Randolph posts 5 birdies finishes on-top at 2-under 70. Thomas, made it close at the end, but finished with 6 birdies and a round of 1-under 71. Two-way tie for 3rd place at even par: Nolensville’s Jack Hranec eagles the par 5 18th, his 2nd eagle of the round, to get into the tie with Murfreesboro’s Micheal Lynn, who had 4 birdies on the day. 

    Division 3 

    Two players needed a playoff to decide the winner on Saturday. Dickson’s Alex Richardson and Murfreesboro’s Colm Murphy finished their rounds tied at 6-over 78. Richardson prevailed in the one-hole playoff to claim the crown and Murphy takes 2nd place. Nashville’s Andrew McCool finishes at 8-over and alone in 3rd place. Columbia’s Sam Cook and Lewisburg’s Bryan Harwell finish in a 4th place tie at 9-over 81. 

    Division 4 

    Charlotte’s Madison Murphy had a day with his stellar round of 3-over 75 to take 1st place. With this showing, it bested his previous best round by 8 strokes over the past two seasons. Two players finished in a tie for 2nd place: Springfield’s Craig Smith and Burns’ Josh McPherson both scored rounds of 10-over 82. McPherson’s round was highlighted by an ace on the 136-yard par 3 3rd. With being a member of the Hole In One clue, he won $500 and Blue Tees speaker – CONGRATULATIONS! Three players posted 11-over 83 and all finish in a 4th place tie: Livingston’s Tyler Brady, Upstate Chapter’s Michael Shirley and Lebanon’s William Kintzler. 

    Division 5 

    The final groups had to endure a weather delay, but were able to eventually finish. Bon Aqua’s Aaron Baggett outlasts Nashville’s Brett Bartholomew by one stroke. Baggett finished the day with his round of +17 89 and Bartholomew ends his day at 18-over 90. Three players ended in a tie for 3rd place: Charlotte’s Cole Smith, Brentwood’s Rachel Guthrie and Smyrna’s Chris Mayor. 

    Open Net competition 

    Division 4 winner – Madison Murphy makes the most of his great round and scores a net round of 62. Division 3 winner – Alex Richardson takes 2nd place with net 68. Michael Shirley takes 3rd place with a net 70. 

    Senior Net competition 

    Division 2 winner – Chris Randolph takes 1st place with a net 65. Recently promoted Lowe Prescott from Dickson places in 2nd with net 70. Bryan Harwell takes 3rd place with net even par.
