Tournament Champions
This past weekend at our LIMITED FIELD event at The Legacy in Springfield, 108 players competed for a total prize pool just over $4,000 and side games totaling close to $3,000. Windy conditions and tough pin positions met the players and provided great competitions with two on-course playoffs to decide the champion.
In Division 1, Tennessee East member, Joseph Agee, battled through the tough conditions and scored a four-stroke victory over Nashville’s Nel Master. Agee posted +2 4 to best Masters round of +6 78.
In Division 2, our largest division of the day with 34 competitors, two players finished their round at the top of the leaderboard. Brentwood’s Ryan Kieswetter and Murfreesboro’s Chris Randolph finished the day at +3 75. Both players headed back to the course and the par 4 10th for the playoff. Randolph bested Kieswetter to take the 1st place prize and trophy. Two players finished in a 3rd place tie: Gallatin’s Todd Schrock and Chapel Hill’s Tim Ewing with their rounds of +5 77. Franklin’s Ken Washington posted +7 79 to finish in-the-money in solo 5th. Dickson’s Lowe Prescott shoots +8 80 and takes the 6th place prize.
In Division 3, another large field of 31 players came down to the last group and last hole to decide the champ. Memphis chapter member and last season’s Division 4 Player of the Year, Jason Bucher, scores his 1st Division 3 victory with a one-stroke victory over Brentwood’s James Newkirk. Bucher’s round of +9 81 was highlighted with a 60 foot birdie on the 18th. Newkirk finished his round at +10 82. Mount Juliet’s Jason Massey takes the 3rd place prize with his round of +11 83. Three players finished in a 4th place tie with rounds of +14 86: Antioch’s Eric Hawley, Shelbyville’s Braxton McGill and Nashville’s Andrew Graham.
In Division 4, extra holes were needed to determine the winner. Dusty Nowlin from Chapel Hill and Nolensville’s Wade Williams finished with +18 90 and in a tie for 1st. Their playoff started on the par 5 1st and need two holes. Williams survived the 1st playoff hole and outlasted Nowlin on the 2nd to capture the win. Columbia’s Joseph Sins takes the 3rd place with +20 92.
In Division 5, Clarksville’s Michelle Martino, who was playing as guest, scores the victory by four strokes with her round of +24 96. Charlotte’s Jimmy Murphy finishes in 2nd place with his round of +28 100. A host of golfers finished in a 3rd place tie: Smyrna’s Chris Mayor, Lewisburg’s Aaron Hobbs, guest Carson Guidino from Joelton and Old Hickory’s Tyler Laney. All finished at +29 101. By rule, guests, except for Division 1, are limited to winning their membership ($135). A guest is eligible to win the trophy, if they shoot a score differential within their division range (i.e Division 5 scores – above 18.5).
Jason Bucher capitalized on his good play to capture the Open Net title with his net round of -4 68. Madison Murphy from Charlotte finishes in 2nd place with his net round of +4 76.
Senior Net was won by Division 2 winner, Chris Randolph. His net round of -2 70 gave him the win by 2 shots. Neil Master takes 2nd place with his net round of even par 72 and Lowe Prescott and James Newkirk finish in a 3rd place tie with net rounds of +1 3.
