Tournament Champions
APT Nashville visited Spring Hill and Towhee Club to compete for over $3,600 in prizes and trophies in each of our 5 open divisions, as well as, Open Net and Senior Net competitions. Players that entered our plethora of sides games were playing for more than $2,200. 93 players competed and dealt with hot, steamy conditions and over half of the field was not able to complete their round due a downpour filled with lightning and wind. Divisions 2 – 5 and the Net competitions were decided on the common holes that were completed.
In Division 1, Spring Hill’s Jeff Richter christened his new membership with a one-stroke victory over another new member, Nashville’s William Hamilton. Richter posted 1-under 69 to best Hamilton’s even par 70. Rounding out the top-three was Brentwood’s Hall Haselton at 1-over 71.
In Division 2, weather conditions limited the contest to 17 holes as the storms rolled through just as the last Division 2 group was in 18 fairway. Columbia’s Will Norman won the scorecard playoff over Smyrna’s Greg Wyatt. Both players finished at 3-over. Two players finished in a 3rd place tie: Columbia’s Sam Cook and Chapel Hill’s Tim Ewing posted rounds of 5-over. A host of 6 players finished in a 5th place tie at 6-over: Murfreesboro’s Michael Osborne, Cumberland City’s John Stinson, Christiana’s John Hipp, Nashville’s John Bean, Hendersonville’s Sonny Beachy and Spring Hill’s Matt Lyndoe.
In Division 3, the competition was determined by 13 holes. Ashland City’s Alex Richardson had an exceptional round today and was victorious by five strokes. Richardson finished at even par while 2nd place finisher, Spring Hill’s Todd Osinski finished at 5-over. Three players finished in a tie for 3rd place at 6-over: Charlotte’s Madison Murphy, Portland’s Kaleb Wilson and Florence, AL’s Ande Jones.
In Division 4, results were based on 11 holes. Franklin’s Alex Garcia scratches out a one-stroke win over Spring Hill’s Chad Wasburn. Garcia’s 6-over bested Washburn’s 7-over. In a third place tie was Smyrna’s Thurman Boyd and Nolensville’s Wade Williams at 8-over par.
In Division 5, the contest was decided after 10 holes. Spring Hill’s Jesse Argenbright and Brentwood’s Rachel Guthrie were tied at-the-top at 6-over par. Argenbright won the scorecard playoff over the last 6 holes to take home the trophy and the 1st place prize. Three-way tie for 3rd place between Cookeville’s Becky Blalock, Smyrna’s Chris Mayor and Franklin’s Matt Holloway.
In Open Net, Division 3’s Alex Richardson makes it three-in-a-row with a five-stroke win with his NET round of six-under. Division 3’s Madison Murphy takes 2nd place at NET one-under. This contest was determined over 13 holes.
In Senior Net, Division 5’s Rachel Guthrie wins by two strokes at NET three-under par over four other players, Division 2’s Kelly Raglin, Division 3 player and Lewisburg native, Bryan Harwell, Division 3’s Todd Osinski and Division 4’s Thurman Boyd. These players all finished with NET rounds of one-under.
