2025 Heron Lakes Great Blue Open Tournament Results

Zach Wells Leads the Way at Heron Lakes with Double Victory

On Sunday, July 27th, the Portland Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour visited Heron Lakes Golf Club, where 20 players competed across five divisions.

In Division 1, Justin Hoye-House emerged victorious after shooting a +14 (86), highlighted by a birdie on the short par-4 3rd hole.

In Division 2, Norman Davis bested Cory Dobak in a playoff after both players carded +9 (81). Davis played the par 5s even and navigated the front nine at just +3, setting himself up for the win in extra holes.

Division 3 belonged to Tony Bautista, who shot +18 (90) and cleared the second-place finisher by 11 strokes. A birdie on the 14th hole not only capped off his round but also earned him a Super Skin, adding $43 to his day’s earnings.

In Division 4, Zach Wells edged out Bill Peabody and Gene Franco by four shots, firing a +12 (84) with matching 42s on both sides. He caught fire in the middle of the round, playing holes 5 through 14 at just +2.

Jesus Jared Soria claimed the Division 5 title with a +19 (91), thanks in large part to a strong back nine of 45, eight shots better than anyone else in the division.

Zach Wells found himself atop the leaderboard once again in the Open Net Division, finishing at -2 (70) with eight net birdies and a -3 total on the par 5s.

In the Senior Net Division, Norman Davis picked up his second win of the day, carding a -2 (70) after catching fire out of the gate, playing his first five holes at -4. He edged Bill Peabody by two strokes, though Peabody still collected $150 on the day, including $60 from his second-place finish in the division.
