On Saturday, the St. Louis chapter returned to action at a new course in the St. Louis rotation – Crescent Farms Golf Club in Eureka.  Crescent Farms features a fun and beautiful layout that players of all skill levels can enjoy.  Given the unusual amount of rains this St. Louis spring, the course was in great shape, green, and the sun was shining on a beautiful Saturday in St. Louis with temperatures in the upper 70s.  Autohaus BMW was there in style with a beautiful gray sportscar that fit perfectly with the beautiful spring day.

In Division 1, Colin Hall earned a trip to the Autohaus BMW Winners Circle – firing a 3-over par 73 to earn a 4-shot win over Hasan Baig, who finished in the runner up position with a 7-over 77.  Jayson Hoagland finished in solo 3rd place with a 10-over 80.  Jason Kell won the Senior division with an 84.

In Division 2, Josh DeJarnette returned to the Winners Circle firing a 7-over par 77 to earn a 2 shot win.  Both Daniel Black and Bill Stuart have been knocking on the door, but finished just 2 shots back with rounds of 79.  4th place went to a host of people tied at 10-over 80, including Bryan Thomas, Mike McCormick, Brandon Smiley, Adam Povis and Eric Schaetty.  On the senior side, John Chastain emerged victorious, firing an 8-over par 78 to earn a one-shot victory over Bill StuartMike McCormick finished in 3rd after firing a 10-over par 80.

In Division 3, Andrew Masters had a day, firing an impressive 8-over par 78 to earn his first victory on the Amateur Players Tour.  Bill Wunderlich and Chris Turner finished in a tie for 2nd with rounds of 80, while Schooner Fitzgerald and Las Vegas member Matthew Tokunagafinished in a tie for 4th with rounds of 81.  Paul Wilson, Michael Burch and Stephen Williams finished in a tie for 6th with rounds of 83.  Bill Wunderlich and Chris Turner  would need more than 18 holes to determine a champion in the senior division, as both players would head to the first hole in hopes of earning the title in extra holes.  Turner  would make 4 on the first playoff hole to secure the victory and a long-awaited return to the winners circle.  Schooner Fitzgerald finished in solo 3rd just 1 shot out of the playoff with 81 while Paul Wilson finished in 4th with an 83.

In Division 4, Phillip Proffitthad the round of his life to earn his first APT victory.  After starting his APT career with 94, 105, 93, and 93, Proffitt had himself a day, firing a 75 to earn a 5-shot victory over Thomas Moore, who finished in solo 2nd with an 80.  3rd place honors went to Douglas Petty and Jim Nichols with rounds of 86, while Tim Faulkner and Larry Eaton rounded out the money with rounds of 88.  Proffitt, with his career round completed the double dip, earning a decisive victory over Douglas Petty and Jim Nichols who shared the runner-up honors.

In Divison 5, Kenneth Finkbeiner played his best round on the APT, firing a 16-over 86 to best David Alexander, who finished with runner-up hoors with a 92.  3rd place went to Byron Whitlock and Bill McMahan who finished with 93.  Kenneth Finkbeiner completed the double-dip with a round of 86, besting David Alexander by 6-shots.

In the Net Division, Stephen Williams took home the title with a 2-under par 68, besting Jim Nichols, Andrew Masters and Matthew Tokunaga by 1 shot as each player finished at 1-under net 69.  Byron Whitlock finished in solo 5th place after an even par 70, while Schooner Fitzgerald, Mike Paubel and Bill Stuart finished in a tie for 6th at +1. From here, the tour has two events next weekend – the TEAM event at Rolling Hills in Godfrey, IL and the St. Louis Open Championship at Lake Forest Country Club in Lake St. Louis, MO on Monday.
