Tournament Champions
On Monday, the St. Louis chapter concluded the Golf with Jay Delsing series at St. Clair Country Club. St. Clair Country Club has sealed its place in St. Louis golfing history, being founded in 1911 and the course where Masters Champion Bob Goalby worked as a caddie. PGA Tour Champion Jay Haas also called St. Clair Country Club home. Scores are historically low at St. Clair, with players taking advantage of a layout that rewards some risk-taking, and players were gifted almost perfect scoring conditions.
In Division 1, Chad Crawford continued his solid play, shooting a 3-over par 75 finishing with 8 straight pars to earn a one-shot victory over John Todd and Joel Miller who finished with rounds of 76. 4th place honors went to Marco Tallerico, Dan Busk and Neil Ghanti with rounds of 77. John Todd edged out Dan Busk in the senior division with a round of 76.
In Division 2, Josh DeJarnette came back from losing a playoff in Indianapolis to shoot a career-best, an even par 72 that featured 4 birdies to earn a 2-shot victory over Brad Garrett. 3rd place went to Eric Schaetty with 76, while the top-5 was rounded out by Eric Fogleman and Bob Manville with 77. On the senior side, Bill McMahan earned the victory with an 86, besting Mike Moynihan, Dolly Buenaventura and Brad Henderson by 3 shots with 89.
In Division 5, 18-holes would not be enough to determine the champion as Chris Brockmeyer and Jim Seibert both finished with rounds of 91. Brockmeyer emerged victorious on the first playoff hole to return to the Autohaus BMW Winners Circle. Shaun Wilke and Esther Flora finished in a tie for 3rd with rounds of 93, while Brian Jennison rounded out the top 5 with a round of 94.
In the Net game, Brad Garrett earned the victory with his 3-under par round of 69, followed by Peter Allen in 2nd place with a 2-under 70 and 3rd place went to Dan Busk and Sam Loring with 1-under net par 71. From here, the tour moves to the ELV8 Event at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course, with double points and double prize pool plus $1,000 added courtesy of ELV8 Golf. Big points are on the line for the final regular-season event of the season as players vie for key positions in the Autohaus BMW Local Player of the Year Standings headed into the local finals.
