Tournament Champions
Despite temperatures peaking around 70 degrees at The Mines Golf Club on Saturday, the overcast skies and occasional rain showers made it feel much cooler throughout the day. The chilly conditions didn’t slow down the competition, though, as players across every division brought the heat with impressive performances.
Division 1 was claimed by Chad Oostveen, and the victory could have major implications for the season-long player rankings. With the win, Chad is expected to gain valuable points that may move him back into the coveted number one spot ahead of Cassidy Jackson.
Division 2 once again belonged to Gabe Cabasaan, who continues his strong season with his second win of the year.
Division 3 featured one of the most exciting finishes of the day, as first-time competitor Mike Kendall defeated fellow first-timer Griffin Baalaer in a playoff to secure the victory.
Division 4 was won by guest-turned-member Randy Guminski, while Division 5 was captured by multi-time tour winner Kyle Sisson.
In the Mid-Am Net division, another familiar name found the winner’s circle as multi-time tour winner Dylan Harris took home the title.
The Michigan Amateur Players Tour would like to thank Scott and his team at The Mines for a great day of golf and greens that challenged even our best players! Thank you again and we hope to play your course again very soon!
