Tournament Champions
The APT Minneapolis Chapter made its first trip to Red Wing Golf Club on Saturday, and the
course delivered. Players enjoyed ideal conditions early before afternoon winds gusting over 30
mph turned the final holes into a true test. The course was in fantastic shape, and the Red Wing
staff made an outstanding first impression on the tour.
Division 1 provided the day’s biggest drama. Leo Stepan forced a playoff with a clutch birdie on
18, then defeated hometown favorite Jackson Goerges on the first extra hole to earn his first
victory of the season after several near misses, including a playoff loss at Northfork.
Jeremy Selph claimed the Division 2 title with an 80 (+9), using a steady round and a strong
finish to separate himself from the field.
Christopher Clampitt captured Division 3 with an 85 (+14), holding off Derek Cormier by two
shots as the afternoon winds made scoring increasingly difficult.
Division 4 featured two first-time APT competitors. Dashawn Sahr earned the victory in his tour
debut with a 98 (+27), while fellow newcomer Bailey Mathers finished runner-up.
The Mid-Am Net division belonged to Stepan as well, completing the round with a net 70 (-1),
the only under-par net round of the day. Goerges finished second at net 72 (+1).
From playoff drama to first-time winners, Red Wing Golf Club proved to be an outstanding
addition to the Minneapolis schedule and a venue we look forward to returning to in the future.
