Virginia Capital Chapter Local Finals and POY Awards
In Division 1 CJ Szuba captured the title by one shot over DJ Tekle Pars on the last two holes for CJ proved to be the difference. CJ fired a 33 on the back 9.
Joe Bautista captured the D2 title (73) by four shots over Maryland’s Aaron Grocholski. Sean Newsom and Chad Davis finished tied for 3rd with +8 (80).
Dean Weinman captured his first title of the year with a 5 Over (77). Sean May finished 3 shots back (80) and Ian Thomas and Joe Renteria tied for 3rd (81).
Wiliam Koontz out of Maryland continued the first victory theme with a six shot victory (80) over Tommy Jackson (86) and Willie Winfree (86).
Larry Kriebel also secured his first victory of his APT Career with a one shot (92) victory over Jimmie Williams IV (93). Ed Harlow secured third with a (95).
William Koontz also secured the Mid Am Net Title wih a Net 67 (-5) to win by two over CJ Szuba’s Net 69 (-3), and by three over Joe Bautista’s Net 70 (-2).
There was a three way tie at the top of the leaderboard in Senior Net. Upon match of the cards Shawn Ashby was awarded the trophy at NET 69 (-3) but split the 1st, 2nd and 3rd pot with Dean Weinman and Larry Kriebel. Emmett Smith and Robert Jackson tied for fourth at Net 71 (-1).
In Closest to the Pin Competition the Winners were
