What a fantastic turn out for The Heartland Showdown at Hesston Golf Course in Hesston, KS. Zach and the team have that course in amazing shape this time of year and their hospitality was outstanding! If you are reading this recap of our event out there and you have never played the course, it is a MUST go play!
🏆 D1 had some exciting golf! We had a couple playoff holes being played to determine the Division 1 winner for The Heartland Showdown! Kipp Jones, who has been playing some outstanding golf as of late, shot an Even par 71 on the day! Total 36 and 2 birdies on the front 9. 35 and 2 birdies on the back 9. Ryan Walker, our Quail Ridge winner recently and looking for back to back wins, was SUPER STEADY on the day. Ryan shot PAR through 9 holes and birdied 10, then bogey and then shot PAR the rest of the way. This went to a two hole playoff, where Kipp held off Ryan for the win!
🏆 D2 had to be decided by a playoff hole as well! Mike Sellers and Ryan Walton both shot 77 (+6). They did it different ways. Ryan was very steady and played consistent golf throughout the day 39/38. Mike shot 43/34 on the day! On playoff hole #1, Mike was able to hold on to the win and won The Heartland Showdown!
🏆 D3 Conner Gillespie was dominant in this victory shooting 38/38 for a final score of 76 (+5). Playing consistently and not making very many mistakes, he earned his promotion to D2 with this win in Hesston.
🏆 D4 was a tight finish! Jeff Rader shot division low 83. Shooting a 40 on the front and with the heat turned up in the afternoon, Jeff shot a 43 with a bogey and double on 17 & 18 respectively. Scott tried to catch him but finished shooting 84 on the day! Great rounds of golf by both players.
🏆 D5 We have talked about this guy quite a bit. Erik Hopper, the winningest player on the Wichita APT, took home his 4th win of the season and beat the field by 5 strokes. Erik will tee it up again at The Tallgrass Championship, an ELEVATED Event and look to keep that title going for our inaugural season on the Wichita APT.
