The Utah Amateur Players Tour returned to Thanksgiving Point on Sunday, October 18, 2026, in Lehi, Utah, for the Phantom Open — one of the deepest fields the chapter has put on a tee sheet this fall and a standout among Utah amateur golf tournaments. A field of 88 players competed across five divisions, with the Mid-Am Net and Senior Net games running alongside. Players are flighted into divisions based on their APT Tournament Index.

Thanksgiving Point opened for play in 1997 and stretches to 7,714 yards, carving its way through the natural mountain desert landscape of Lehi and wrapping around some of the most spectacular gardens in the state. GolfWeek Magazine has named it one of the “Best Golf Courses You Can Play in Utah,” and its résumé includes the Web.com Tour’s Utah Championship, the Utah State Amateur Championship, and The Champions Challenge, which brought Jack Nicklaus, John Daly, Laura Davies, Fuzzy Zoeller and Gary Player to the property. On Sunday, the par-4 12th did the heaviest lifting of any hole on the card: it played better than a shot and a half over par and did not surrender a single birdie all day, with just 22 of the 88 players walking off with a par.

Division 1 came down to the final six holes. Lindsay Cook of Bozeman, Montana trailed by as many as five strokes through twelve holes before turning the division on its head, playing the closing six in 3-under to post a 2-over 74 and win by a single shot. Cook eagled the par-5 2nd, added birdies at the 4th, 13th, 14th and 17th, and came home in 1-under 35 after going out in 3-over 39. Stuart Wallin of Taylorsville was level with Cook with three to play and signed for a 3-over 75 and runner-up honors, built on a tidy card of 12 pars with birdies at the 1st and 2nd. Carter Gibson of Mapleton and Jeff Clifford of Eagle Mountain shared third at 5-over 77, each a stroke back of the lead with three to go.

Division 2 produced the two lowest rounds of the day. Kendrik Gibson of Mapleton posted an even-par 72 — the low round of the entire field — with matching even-par 36s and birdies at the 1st, 5th, 14th and 18th. Tanner Mattinson of Lehi matched him at the top of the division with a 1-over 73, turning in 1-over 37 before coming home in even-par 36 with an eagle at the par-5 14th and birdies at the 3rd and 13th. Brody Valerga of Alpine took second at 2-over 74 after a scorching 2-under 34 on the front that included birdies at the 1st, 2nd and 5th. Makay Nelson, visiting from the Phoenix chapter out of Mesa, Arizona, was third at 3-over 75, and T.J. Johanson of Riverdale fourth at 4-over 76. Alec Rosales of West Jordan and Jacob Warren of Parowan tied for fifth at 5-over 77 to round out the money positions, Warren also turning in 2-under 34. Eleven players finished within seven shots of the lead.

Division 3 belonged to Curtis Sharp of Tooele, who answered where it mattered most. Sharp went out in 4-over 40, came home in 3-over 39, and played the last six in 1-under — including a birdie at the par-4 16th, the only birdie that hole gave up all day — for a 7-over 79 and a one-shot win. Tim Jenson of Saratoga Springs made a real race of it, trailing by five after six holes before an inward 2-over 38 drew him level with three to play; he settled for an 8-over 80 and second. Matt Quarnberg of South Weber was third at 9-over 81, birdieing the 3rd, 5th and 18th, to round out the money positions. Baylor Payne of Lindon and Kyle Pomikala of Herriman shared fourth at 10-over 82.

Trandon Harvey of Saratoga Springs controlled Division 4 from the opening tee shot. Harvey birdied the 2nd, 3rd and 17th, turned in 1-over 37 and posted a 6-over 78 for an eight-shot victory, leading at every checkpoint of the day. Jim Browning of Draper finished second, Julian Le of Murray third — Le picking up the day’s other eagle at the par-5 14th — and Ryan Taylor of South Jordan fourth.

In Division 5, Eric Scoonover of Ogden built his lead early and never gave it back, birdieing both the par-5 5th and the par-5 14th on the way to a 12-over 84 and a two-shot win. Joshua Madden of Sandy closed to within one through twelve before finishing second at 14-over 86. Dustin Wall of Wallsburg was third at 16-over 88, trimming six shots off his front nine on the way home, and Mike Eames of North Ogden took fourth at 18-over 90 to round out the money positions.

Harvey completed the double-dip in the Mid-Am Net, where his net 5-under 67 was good for a three-stroke win. Madden made it two seconds on the day with a net 2-under 70, Rosales was third at net 1-under 71, and Tim Jenson and Tyler Moore of Spanish Fork tied for fourth at net even-par 72 to round out the money positions.

Scoonover did the same in the Senior Net, where his net 4-under 68 won by five. Kenneth Chapman of Mapleton, Matt Quarnberg and Stuart Wallin all finished at net 1-over 73 to share second — three players tied to the stroke after each had been well clear of the eventual winner’s pace at the turn.

Next up in the Utah chapter — a trip south for the Harvest Classic at Sunbrook GC on Saturday, November 7th, followed by the Tribute Championship at Green Spring on Sunday, November 8th. Space is limited and registration closes November 1st for both.
