In the midst of the blustery conditions at Wood Wind Golf Club in Westfield, Indiana, the Indianapolis Amateur Players Tour recently witnessed a fierce battle against the wind as players vied for victory across multiple divisions.
In Division 1, Blake Claycomb continued to assert his dominance with a stellar performance, carding a two-over-par 73. However, his victory was not without challenge as Barney Sutley trailed closely behind with a commendable 77, showcasing the competitive spirit of the tournament.
Division 2 saw an intense playoff showdown between Tristan Carmony and James Heath, both finishing regulation play with scores of 84. Carmony ultimately clinched the win on the first playoff hole, demonstrating nerves of steel under pressure.
Jay McBee’s recent promotion to Division 3 proved to be well-deserved as he emerged victorious with a solid 85. However, the competition in this division was tight, with Nathan Kile, John Phares, and Ben Minnich all tying for second place with scores of 88, highlighting the depth of talent in the field.
In Division 4, David Beshears put on a commanding performance, running away with the victory with a score of 91. His consistent play secured him a well-deserved spot in the winner’s circle.
Meanwhile, Zachary Jackson showcased his skills in Division 5, shooting an impressive 94 to claim the division title. He faced stiff competition from Tom Heiser but managed to hold on for the win.
Notably, Barney Sutley’s success extended into the Senior Net division, where he continued his winning streak with a commendable four-over-par 75, cementing his status as a force to be reckoned with on the course.
