April 27th, 2026 marked the second stop of the season for the New Jersey Amateur Players Tour, as players returned to Shackamaxon Country Club for another memorable day of competition. Now in its fourth consecutive year on the schedule, “The Shack” continues to be a player favorite—and once again, it delivered!

Nestled in Scotch Plains, NJ. Shackamaxon is a classic parkland layout originally designed by renowned architect A.W. Tillinghast. Known for its strategic bunkering, undulating greens, and timeless design, the course demands precision off the tee and a sharp short game around the greens. With its rich history and championship-caliber conditions, it provides the perfect test for players of all divisions.

This event was a shotgun start with a field of 64 players. From the opening tee shot to the final putt, competitors were treated to a true test of skill on one of New Jersey’s premier private clubs—proving once again why this annual stop remains one of the highlights of the NJAPT schedule.

We were proud to welcome players from multiple APT chapters to The Shack— including New Jersey, Central PA, and Virginia Capital, Even more exciting, 11 new members joined the Amateur Players Tour family at this event, making it a truly special start to the season.

A total of $1,080 was up for grabs across Division Skins and Super Skins, contributing to an impressive overall prize pool of $2,817 across Divisions 1–5, as well as Mid-Am Net and Senior Net.

Division 1 was a battle from the very first tee!

Defending 2025 Tillinghast Championship champion – Adam Fuchs came in ready to defend his title, facing off against a talented field of three other elite player (Charles Lee, John Krawczyk and newcomer Brian Downing). At the turn Fuchs had a 3-stroke lead over Lee, and there was no looking back. Fuchs retained his title with a back to back victory in D1 – posting a score of +2 (72).

Division 2 featured a competitive field of 14 players, all battling for the top spot in a tightly contested race. Just four strokes separated first place from sixth, with eight players within that margin.Kyle Edwards secured third place with a final score of +9 (79). Meanwhile, David Rosenberg and tour newcomer Connor Sinibaldi appeared destined for a playoff as the round came down to the final hole. Standing on the 18th green in two, Sinibaldi faced a lengthy birdie putt of over 20 feet. A two-putt would have forced a playoff, but he had other plans. With nerves of steel, Sinibaldi buried the birdie to claim the outright victory.

Division 3 had a large field of 21 players. With a shotgun start and talent spread across the course, it was nearly impossible to gauge where anyone stood throughout the round — every hole told a different story, and the leaderboard was wide open all day. When the dust finally settled, just five strokes separated first place from sixth place. A two-way tie for fourth place saw Christopher Bartelli and Michael Gaytan with final score of +14 (84) Richard Guillod III took third place finishing +13 (85). Solo second was James Peterson with a final score of +12 (82).  Rising to the top of the pack, with his first win at The Shack- Anthony Ventura edged out the field to become the Division 3 Champion, posting a winning score of +10 (80)

Division 4 delivered a standout performance worth talking about. With a solid field of 13 players, the bar was set high—but no one could catch the eventual winner. Terrance Higgins claimed third place with a final score of +18 (88), while Zach Plude, representing Central PA, earned a strong solo second finish at +14 (84). The spotlight, however, belonged to Skylar Holmes of Central PA, who put together an exceptional round. Firing a +7 (77), Holmes separated from the field in dominant fashion and was crowned the Division 4 champion.

Division 5 may have featured a of 12 players, the competition at the top was just as intense. Paul Taylor and Rodney Johnson I tied for third place with a +24 (94), while Brandt Cullen claimed solo place of second posting a +23 (93). Rising above the field, Peter Kratzel with his first win of 2026, delivered the low round of the division, claiming the win with a final score of +19 (89).

Mid-Am Net was stacked with 20 players in the field and payouts going to the top 4 spots.. In a two-way tie for second place we saw Zach Plude and Kyle Edwards both finish with a NET score of -1 (69). In this tightly contested race where we had to go to a scorecard playoff between Skylar Holmes and Anthony Ventura to determine the winner. It would beHolmes who ultimately claimed the trophy, delivering a strong back nine Net score of -4 (31), while Ventura finished with a Net score  -2 ( 33)

Senior Net had a large field with 20 players in the field and payouts going to the top 4 spots. Just five strokes separated the final payout spot from the top of the leaderboard, making for a tightly packed finish. David Rosenberg finished fourth with a Net Score of Even (70)Eric Boothe captured third with a Net Score of -1 (69)James Peterson took solo second with a Net Score of -2 (68) and at the top, Peter Kratzel took home the trophy with an impressive winning Net score of -5 (65).
