    Walden on Lake Conroe

APT made its first trip to Walden on Lake Conroe, and the course didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet. The heat was relentless, the skies stayed rain free, and a light breeze off the lake offered just enough relief to keep things playable. Still, it was a grind, and the field was up for it.

Division 1 saw a tight battle early, with Jason Hawthorne setting the pace at the turn with a +3(39), just ahead of Marusic at +4(40). Donnie Bradham made his move with a birdie on 10 to stay in the hunt, but it was newcomer Matt Pawly who stole the show. An eagle on 12 followed by a birdie on 16 powered a steady back-nine E(36), giving him a +6(78) and a one-shot victory in his debut.

Division 2 was crowded at the top from the start. Jason Hollis, Scott Trebus, and Ricky Keyes all carded matching +8(44) on the front. Hollis broke through with a birdie on 13, but the lead didn’tlast long as Gary answered with a birdie on 16 to tie things up. Hollis held firm down the stretch, posting a +5(41) on the back to finish at +13(85), edging the field by a single shot.

Division 3 belonged to Troy White, who set the tone early with a solid +4(40). Brian Thomas trailed by four at the turn at +8(44) and couldn’t close the gap. White stayed steady on the back, aside from a late stumble on 18, finishing with a +7(43). His +11(83) was good for a comfortable five-shot win.

Division 4 saw Jay Alaniz come out firing, opening with a +4(40) to build a sizable lead. Devin Snyder sat seven shots back at +11(47) and couldn’t quite mount a charge. Alaniz cooled off on the back with a +18(54), but the cushion held. He finished at +22(94), securing a three-shot victory.

Division 5 featured Rick Pritchard—fresh off his travels—taking control early with a +9(45), holding a slim one-shot lead over Terry Collins and Jeremy Finch at +10(46). Pritchard kept things steady on the back, posting a +12(48) highlighted by three pars that helped him pull away. He finished at +21(93), winning by six. Collins and Muhammad Qadir shared second at +27(99).

The Mid-Am Net division had its largest participation of the year with 5 players, and it was Muhammad Qadir who came out on top with a +6(78).

In the Senior Net division, Pritchard added another line to his day with an E(72) to take the win, while Troy White followed with a +2(74) for second.
