OKC – 2026 APT Players Championship Tournament Recap
Division 1 Recap
The 2026 APT Players Championship at OKC featured a competitive five-player field and produced a dramatic finish at the top of the leaderboard. Two players emerged from the pack to share medalist honors, while strong back-nine performances ultimately determined the championship. When the final scores were tallied, Robert Irion and William Walton finished tied for first with impressive rounds of 74, setting themselves apart from the rest of the field. Starting the playoff on their opening hole, Irion and Walton went out to hole 2 where both players made a par. The par 3, 3rd hole decided the championship with Irion making a par, while Walton bogeyed, to claim his first win in 3 starts on the APT Tour.
Robert Irion & William Walton (74)
Robert Irion – 74 (39-35)
Robert Irion delivered the strongest closing nine holes of the tournament. After turning in a solid 39 on the front nine, Irion caught fire on the back side, carding an outstanding 35. His round featured several standout holes, including scores of 2 on the 7th and 12th holes, helping him gain valuable strokes on the field. Irion’s ability to limit mistakes late in the round and capitalize on scoring opportunities allowed him to erase any deficit and move into a tie for the championship. The inward 35 was the lowest back-nine score of the tournament and proved to be a key factor in finishing in a tie for lead.
William Walton – 74 (36-38)
William Walton built his championship round on a tremendous start. His 36 on the front ninewas the lowest outward score among all competitors and gave him an early lead. Walton displayed consistency throughout the day, recording only a few holes above par while maintaining steady play from tee to green. A score of 2 on the 17th hole highlighted an excellent back-nine effort and helped preserve his position atop the leaderboard. While Irion made a late charge, Walton’s exceptional front-nine performance was enough to finish in a tie for the lead.
Scott Fees – 79 (38-41)
Scott Fees finished in a tie for third place with a score of 79. After 3 bogeys result 38, Fees remained in contention heading into the final nine holes. Back-to-back birdies on hole 10 & 11, and Fees was back in the contention, and he stayed there until two swings led to two balls out of bounds which resulted in an 8 on the 15th hole.
Taylor Gossett – 79 (38-41)
Taylor Gossett matched Fees with rounds of 38 and 41 for a total of 79. An 8 on the second holerepresented the biggest challenge of the round, but Gossett recovered well and remained within striking distance for much of the tournament. His 7 on hole 16 dropped Gossett from contention.
Division 2 Recap
The Division 2 field at the 2026 APT Players Championship produced a highly competitive leaderboard, with several players remaining in contention throughout the round. Strong ball striking, timely birdies, and consistency on the challenging par-71 layout were key factors as competitors battled for the title. In the end, Kirk Russell captured the championship with an impressive 74, edging Joseph Robinson by a single stroke and holding off a tightly packed group of challengers.
Kirk Russell – 74 (37-37)
Kirk Russell delivered the most balanced round of the tournament, carding matching nines of 37 and 37 to earn the Division 2 championship. Russell’s steady performance never featured a major setback, and his consistency from the opening tee shot to the final putt proved to be the difference. He played near par throughout the day, highlighted by a strong stretch on the back nine that included 3 straight birdies on Holes 12, 13, and 14. Russell followed with another birdie on 16th Hole. Unlike many competitors who experienced fluctuations between the front and back nines, Russell maintained an even pace throughout the round. His ability to avoid costly mistakes secured a one-shot victory and earned him the Division 2 title.
Joseph Robinson – 75 (35-40)
Joseph Robinson posted the lowest front nine of the tournament with an outstanding 35, immediately establishing himself as the player to beat. Robinson turned in a scorecard that featured several excellent holes, including a 2 on Hole 12 and strong scoring opportunities throughout the outward nine. His 35 gave him an early lead over the field. The back nine proved more challenging, particularly on Hole 15 where an 8 significantly impacted his score. Despite that setback, Robinson remained in contention until the end and finished with an excellent 75, just a single stroke behind Russell.
Lance Boyd – 76 (37-39)
Lance Boyd was in the hunt for most of the day. After a solid 37 on the front nine, he followed with a 39 on the back to finish at 76. Boyd’s round was defined by steady play and his ability to avoid large numbers. He remained within striking distance until 2 late bogeys left him 2 strokes back of Russell
Conner Hoelting – 76 (37-39)
Conner Hoelting matched Boyd shot-for-shot with identical nines of 37 and 39. Hoelting remained near the top of the leaderboard all afternoon and delivered one of the division’s most well-rounded performances. While he lacked the exceptionally low stretch needed to chase down the leaders, his consistency earned him a well-deserved tie for third.
Division 3 Recap
The Division 3 competition at the 2026 APT Players Championship featured a clear standout performance from Russell Ridener, whose steady play on both nines led to a convincing victory. While several competitors battled for the remaining top positions, Ridener’s combination of consistency and clutch scoring separated him from the field, allowing him to claim the Division 3 championship by seven strokes.

His balanced performance made him the only player in the division to break 80 and secured a comfortable seven-stroke victory.
John Brill – 86 (40-46)
John Brill earned a share of second place after posting rounds of 40 and 46. Brill was firmly in contention after a strong front nine and stayed near the top of the leaderboard throughout the round. A few difficult holes on the inward side prevented him from mounting a challenge for the championship, but his steady play was enough to secure a 2nd place finish.
John Munno – 86 (39-47)
John Munno matched Brill’s total with an 86, despite following a different path. Munno turned in one of the better front-nine scores of the day with a 39, trailing only Ridener after the outward side. However, a more difficult back nine resulted in a 47, allowing the leaders to create some separation. Even so, Munno’s strong start helped him maintain a tie for second place.
Ryan Miller – 88 (41-47)
Ryan Miller remained competitive through the opening nine holes, posting a 41. While the back nine proved more challenging, his overall score of 88 was 2 back of finishing in the money.
