WingHaven Country Club Hosts Another Competitive Stop in the Autohaus BMW Player of the Year Race

The St. Louis Amateur Players Tour returned to WingHaven Country Club on Monday, welcoming players from across the region for another opportunity to earn valuable Autohaus BMW Player of the Year points. With the championship portion of the season approaching, every finish continues to carry more weight as players look to separate themselves in their respective divisions.

    Division 1

Caleb Schenck put together the round of the day in Division 1, posting a 1-over 73 to claim the victory by three shots. Schenck’s steady play was highlighted by four birdies, earning him his first Division 1 win of the season.

The battle behind him featured a three-way tie for second at 76 between Mikie Rybak, Andrew Rottschalk, and current Player of the Year leader Dylan Davidson. Peyton Holden finished fifth, while John Todd added another solid result with a sixth-place finish, keeping himself firmly in the Division 1 Player of the Year conversation alongside Davidson and Holden.

    Division 2

Daniel Black was the only player in Division 2 to finish under par, carding a 1-under 71 to earn the division title.

Taylor Young and Collin Beffa shared second after rounds of 76, while Steven Eisenhauer finished fourth at 77. Craig Suemnicht and Andrew Masters tied for fifth at 78.

The finish also had implications in the season-long standings. Michael Konuch added another top-10 finish, while Todd Feuerhaken continued to collect valuable points as the Division 2 Player of the Year race remains one of the closest in the chapter.

    Division 3

Tim Leonberger captured the Division 3 title after posting an 81, finishing two shots clear of the field.

Keith Patty and Vincent Featherson tied for second at 83, while Mike Paubel finished fourth. A four-way tie for fifth included Tony Clark, Thomas Svezia, Rick Johnson, and Gerald Harsley.

With Dustin Hunter absent this week, the race for Division 3 Player of the Year continues to tighten behind him as several contenders picked up important points heading toward the final stretch of the season.

    Division 4

Mike Scalera continued his impressive summer by earning another victory, shooting 82 to take Division 4 honors.

Baxton Owen finished second, while Mark Smith, Ryan Troll, and Brad Henderson shared third after rounds of 85.

Scalera’s win strengthens his position in the Division 4 Player of the Year standings, while Troll and Smith both added meaningful points as the race remains far from settled.

    Division 5

Esther Flora claimed the Division 5 championship with an 87, finishing one shot ahead of Kenneth Finkbeiner.

J Oden Thompson finished third, while Roger Eberlein and Jeremy Elmore tied for fourth.

The finish gives Flora another strong performance in a division that continues to feature several players capable of winning on any given week. Roger Eberlein also remained firmly in the Player of the Year hunt with another top-five finish.

    Mid-Am Net

The Mid-Am Net division produced one of the day’s closest finishes as Ryan Troll and Mikie Rybak tied at 3-under 69, splitting first-place honors.

Justin Levine finished alone in third after a 70, while Andrew Masters followed in fourth.

The result gives Troll another quality finish during an already strong season, adding to his impressive run across multiple divisions.

    Senior Net

Mike Scalera continued his outstanding day by capturing the Senior Net title with a 7-under 65.

Steve Tripi, Brad Henderson, and Esther Flora shared second at 67, while Tim Leonberger and Mark Smith tied for fifth after rounds of 69.

Scalera’s second victory of the day further boosts his standing in the Senior Net Player of the Year race, while several of the chapter’s top senior players continued to add valuable points with another event remaining before the championship portion of the schedule.

The St. Louis chapter now turns its attention toward the next stop on the schedule, where another full field will once again battle for trophies, payouts, and increasingly valuable Autohaus BMW Player of the Year points as the race toward season-end honors continues.
