February 26th, 2022 - St. Louis, MO
The Amateur Players Tour, founded in 2018 in St. Louis, MO, is a North American Golf Tour with competitions across 24 states and Canada. APT is proud to announce an expansion in St. Louis of a Senior Only (50+) tour for the 2022 season. The Amateur Players Tour is created by the players, for the players, on the bedrock principles of fair competition, camaraderie and a tour-like experience. Building on the success of the 2021 season in St. Louis and across the network, the APT is offering a Senior-only tour experience for the 2022 season in the St. Louis area for members 50 and over.
Players are grouped into one of five divisions based on their tournament index with the APT. With a division for everyone, players are able to compete against players of their own skill level for trophies, player of the year points, and prizes are paid out to top finishers in VISA Gift Cards. Players can also compete for a $7,500 Bonus Prize Pool for season-long winners in the St. Louis area.
The 2022 senior schedule is highlighted by high quality venues throughout the St. Louis area. The tour will travel to top-rated public facilities Annbriar Golf Course, Gateway National Golf Links, Spencer T. Olin, Far Oaks Golf Club, Pevely Farms and more. The tour also provides access to play tournaments at some of the best private facilities in the area - WingHaven Country Club, Persimmon Woods Golf Club, Lake Forest Country Club and St. Clair Country Club will all highlight the 2022 senior schedule in the St. Louis area.
“The best part of APT is the people. The players are a great group. The staff are really good people who are doing a bang up job of making this tour a place where we can compete in a fun and friendly atmosphere” said member Chuck Easley. Seniors will have even more options to compete with the expansion of a senior only schedule in 2022.
“We are excited to offer a competitive tour experience for seniors in the St. Louis metro. With one membership, our seniors not only get access to senior events, but all the open events in St. Louis and throughout our network” said APT founder Matt Minder. Players will have the ability to qualify for the Senior North American Championship, to be held September 25-27 at the Barefoot Dye Club in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
