Pevely Farms Golf Club Tournament Results

On Sunday, the Amateur Players Tour traveled to the venerable Pevely Farms Golf Club in Eureka, MO.  Players were met with warm temperatures, which was a nice relief from the cold spell of recent winds.  The winds picked up to the 20-30mph range, making the challenging Pevely Farms layout even more difficult.

In Division 1, Alex Ciaramitaro stole the show, shooting a solid even par round of 72 to earn a 4 shot victory.  Blake Heimburger broke out of a crowded field battling for second, shooting a 4-over 76 to finish in 2^nd position. Michael Flynn and John Todd tied for 3^rd, shooting 5-over par 77’s.

In Division 2, Billy Davis returned to the winner’s circle after his victory at the inaugural St. Louis Senior Season Opener at Tamarack Country Club with a 4-over par 76. Joel Miller had his second runner-up finish in as many events, narrowly missing forcing a playoff and shooting a 5-over 77 to finish one shot back of Davis.  Kevin Coan, Kent Van Cleve, and Mike Mervis finished tied for 3^rd, with solid rounds of 80 battling tough conditions.

Division 3 once again was the most competitive field of the day, with 44 players coming down to a 4-way playoff. 12 players finished within 3-strokes of the lead.  After 18 holes, Vince Hulett, Mark Ralph, Kyle Shartzer and David Dixon were tied with solid rounds of 82.  On the first playoff hole, Vince Hulett emerged victorious by making a clutch par putt on the first hole to earn the trophy and the $310 VISA Gift Card Payout.  Ralph, Shartzer, and Dixon each earned $146 for their 2^nd place efforts.  Scott Swanston, Mark Paul, and Haris Habibovic finished tied for 5^th with rounds of 83, one shot back of the leaders.

In Division 4, Paul Spotanski came out of the gate strong on his home course, firing a career best 80 to earn a 2-shot victory over Dallas Cook.  Jesse Baumann, Mike Scalera, and Rick Johnson tied for 3^rd with rounds of 86.

In Division 5, Cory Newman used a string of pars on the back nine to propel him to his first career victory by shooting a 94 to best Michael Moynihan, who finished in 2^nd place shooting a 95.

From here, the tour travels to the private Jack Nicklaus designed WingHaven Country Club, on Monday, April 25^th.  15 spots remain as the field will sell out at 160 players.  This is the first combined event for both the open and senior divisions, with seniors having the option to “double-dip”.  Players can request a morning or afternoon start time, as play will commence off of 1 and 10 tees in a morning and afternoon wave.
