Thank you to all the players that made it to Cider Ridge in Oxford, AL marking the first combo event with Atlanta and Birmingham Tours! The course was in fantastic shape with greens rolling true and plush fairways! Nothing but compliments to the staff at Cider Ridge for the conditions and hospitality! Thank you! It was the Birmingham Tour that took the victory this year. Looking forward to future years of this event! Congrats to our winners!
Division 1
Golf is not a game of hitting perfect shots every time. Golf is a game of managing your misses and staying mentally tough when you have a bad hole. Our D1 winner on Saturday was able to do just that very thing! Congrats to Derek Nicholson (Birmingham) for shooting a 75 and winning by 3 shots! Even when Derek made a double bogey on 14, he bounces back with 2 birdies in the final 4 holes to secure his victory. Congrats are in order for Conway Shirley (Birmingham) and Mike Weathers (Birmingham) who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Division 2
The D2 winner has been on a hot streak of lately! This player won D3 last weekend at APT Pub Links at Greystone, gets bumped up a division and then wins in D2! Congrats to Birmingham Chapter Owner Russ Donaldson for shooting a 77 and winning by 3 shots! Jordan Jones (Birmingham) started slowly but turned it around on the front with a score of 39 but couldn't keep up the pace on the back. For his efforts, Jordan finished in 2nd place with an 80. And congrats to Corey Gooch (Birmingham) for his consistent play on the front and back (40-41) and coming in 3rd place.
Division 3
18 holes was not enough to determine a winner in D3! James Davis (Atlanta) was the leader in the clubhouse till Jordan Arrighi (Birmingham) drained a 30ft bomb on 18 30mins later! James and Jordan had to play #1 again as the playoff hole and with James bogey on #1 was enough to come out on top at Cider Ridge! Congrats James and well played Jordan! Larry Kirkpatrick (Birmingham) started out really strong on the front nine with a 39 but couldn't keep the momentum going on the back and ended up finishing 4 shots out of the lead.
Division 4
Congrats to our winner in D4! This player doesn't play in our tournaments all the time but when he does, he wins! Congrats to Demetrius Minor (Atlanta) for winning his 2nd tournament this year with an 84! It was close all day but Dophie Thomas (Atlanta) finished 1 stroke shy with an 85, and Danny Daniel (Birmingham) finished in 3rd with an 87. It was a tight race all day in D4! Congrats to all!
Division 5
It was all Birmingham in D5 in the top finishers! Congrats to Wilson Gammill for shooting a 95 and winning by 2 shots! This is Wilson's 3rd win this year! Congrats! Gregory Bodiford started out really strong on the front but could not keep the momentum going on the back and finished with a 97. And congrats to Bobby Arrighi and Tim Harbin for both tying at 99 and finishing in 3rd place!
