Once again, our players were rewarded for disregarding an ominous weather forecast and getting in a great round of golf!
Pine Meadow Golf Club is a hidden gem on our tour, transporting players to a golf oasis unlike many courses around!
In Division 1, Scott Rolf (Chicago, IL) played consistently well all the way through to run away with the lead, firing a 78. Playing partner Jack Dempsey (Buffalo Grove, IL) played consistent golf to take 2nd place, but just couldn't put together enough low scoring holes to threaten the lead.
Division 2 saw a repeat champion as Ryan Zambon (Cary, IL) delivered a 78 to edge out Kirk Blakney (Joliet, IL) by 2 strokes for his second tour win of the season. Zambon and Blakney are proving to be the two golfers to beat in Division 2 in Chicago. Tied at the turn, the lead bounced back and forth through 15 holes before Zambon finished strong on the last 3 holes to take the event.
The Division 3 winner was newcomer Steven Barth (Willowbrook, IL) who fired an 87 to edge out 2-time tour champ Ronald Greaves (Chicago, IL) by 4 strokes! Barth turned in 10 pars to grind out the win in his first tour appearance.
Our Division 4 winner was also a newcomer, Adam Wittenberg (Lakewood, IL) on the strength of an 86, racing out to the lead with a stellar 40 on the front 9. Solomon Ardison (Bolingbrook, IL) and Kyle McCaughn (Lake in the Hills, IL) battled all day for 2nd place, with Ardison taking the spot by 1 stroke.
Another rookie, Anthony Ruffolo (Lakewood, IL) took the Division 5 trophy home with a 92 to outlast Tom Mueller (Crystal Lake, IL). Ruffolo’s 44 on the back 9 sealed the win. Mueller may have lost the battle, but did take home two CTP awards!
