Div 1- Tim Saunders was the leader after day 1 as he held a 3 shot lead over Ramsey Kimbrough. The 3 shot lead disappeared after Saunders suffered a double bogey on the par 4 3rd hole. The 2 players were still tied after the opening 9 but it was Kimbrough who shot a 1 under 35 on the back to pull out the victory by 3.
Div 2- Blake Benson’s 77 on Saturday was good enough to take a 2 shot lead over Tommy Sedman into Sunday. The 2 players were still separated by 2 after the front 9 on Sunday but after a two shot swing on the par 3 11th, the players were all knotted up. Sedman’s birdie on the 12th gave him his first lead of the weekend. Benson was able to get the stroke back on the 16th hole and the two players were all tied after regulation. Benson’s par on the 1st playoff hole was good enough to take home the trophy.
Div 3- There were 3 sub 80 rounds in Div 3 over the weekend and Tony Ellis had 2 of them. Ellis (77-78) ran away with the tournament with a 7 shot victory over Fred Tollett. Tollett had a back door 2nd place finish with a solid 79 on Sunday.
Div 4- It was a crowded leaderboard after Saturday’s first round. Paul Harris and Daniel England shared the lead after shotting a pair of 81s. Harris’ round included a hole-in-one on the par 3 6th. On Sunday, Harris stayed steady, and managed to shot another 81. Daniel faltered on the front 9 and it was his brother David who ended up coming up the leaderboard and finishing 2nd to Harris.
Div 5- Michael Ridge Sr took control of the tournament from the 1st hole on Saturday and never let it go. Ridge (90-92) went on to finish with a 6 shot victory over Sean Cawood.
