On Sunday, the Tri-Cities/Southwest Virginia chapter had our eighth tour stop at Wytheville Country Club in Wytheville, VA. A buzz was in the air as players anxiously awaited getting the eighth tournament underway, earning valuable points towards qualifying for the inaugural North American Championship at Pinehurst Resorts in October. A competitive field faced sunny and warm conditions, but a golf course that was in excellent shape.
In Division 1, Anthony Stout battled his way to a +10 over 80 on his way to victory. Peyton Wilson finished second with a nice +13 over 83.
In Division 2, Todd Holmes took home the victory with a +6 over 76. Jason Greenwell finished five shots back with a +11 over 81.
In Division 3, Brad Carr bested the field with a nice +22 over 92.
In Division 4, Samuel Miller shot a solid +12 over 82 to take home the victory. Rob Luffman finished twelve shots back with a nice +24 over 94. Rhea Preston finished third thirteen shots back with a strong +25 over 95.
In Division 5, Brett St Clair continued his victory campaign by winning shooting a solid +21 over 91. Aaron Carr finished the day in sunny conditions with a +35 over 105. Brandon Cook from the West Virginia chapter finished third at +36 over 106. David Cook from the West Virginia chapter finished fourth with a solid +41 over 111.
From here, the APT moves to Graysburg Hills Golf Club on Sunday, June 27th. We look forward to seeing everyone for another exciting APT tournament and another chance to earn valuable points in our local Player of the Year race.
