The Bridges Recap 2025
June 22, 2025 – The Central PA Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour – The Bridges Golf Club “Elevated” Event
It was a scorcher of a day with a high of 94°, and every player had to find a way to overcome the heat. As hot as it was, the golf course presented multiple challenges, and The Bridges Golf Club was up to the task. The greens were rolling incredibly fast with the grain and offered just enough friction against the grain to keep most players guessing. It made for a challenging day of putting on most greens.
Division 1
The day began with five players in the field competing for the trophy, prize money, and double points in this elevated event. When the smoke cleared, Dan Ayars of Millville, NJ, was in command, finishing with an impressive 73—just one over par. Over 18 holes, Dan scored three birdies to offset four bogeys. Second place went to Tanner Fackler of Harrisburg, PA, with a score of 76. Third place was claimed by Ron Hinish of Roaring Springs, PA, with a final score of 79.
Division 2
A total of 11 players teed off in Division 2, and it was a competitive match to the very end. First place was secured by Paul Hess from Lincoln University, PA, by a single stroke. Paul played an outstanding back nine with only two bogeys, finishing with a total score of 78. Second place went to Steve Hilt of York, PA, who played a great round and finished at 79—just one stroke away from a playoff. Third place was earned by Matthew Lescavage of Pine Grove, PA, with a final score of 80.
Division 3
Eleven players competed in Division 3, but the spotlight was on two players—both from Dillsburg, PA—who battled for the top two spots. John Friedman, showing sheer tenacity, earned the Division 3 trophy, points, and prize money with a final score of 83. His round didn’t start the way he wanted, and after nine holes he was two strokes off the pace. That changed on the back nine, where John posted only three bogeys to claim victory. Second place went to Tony Ryan with a score of 85, just two strokes back. Third place was taken by Mark Witmer of Exton, PA, with a final score of 86.
Division 4
In just over a 30-day span, John Stonesifer of Littlestown, PA, found himself back in the winner’s circle. Fresh off his win at Royal Manchester, John closed the deal once again. The front nine was tough, and he made the turn at 11-over. But once John stepped onto the 11th tee, everything clicked—he went on to score seven straight pars and secured the victory with a final round of 85. Second place in Division 4 went to Gary Willis of Fort Worth, TX, with a solid round of 88. Third place was earned by Jim Davis of Mechanicsburg, PA, with a final score of 89.
Division 5
Brian Fritzinger of Dover, PA, claimed the victory in Division 5 with a final score of 89. Brian played a balanced round, scoring 44 on the front and 45 on the back. Jeremiah Cassidy and Jeff Brodsky did their best to catch him, both shooting 43 on the back nine. In the end, it wasn’t enough, and Brian cruised home with a three-stroke lead to secure the trophy. Jeremiah, of Ephrata, PA, finished second with a total of 92. Jeff, representing Merion Station, PA, came in third with a final score of 93.
Open Net

Third place went to Dan Ayers, who finished at +2.
