Indianapolis Amateur Players Tour – The Players Club at Woodland Trails
The Indianapolis Amateur Players Tour wrapped up its regular season with a stop at The Players Club at Woodland Trails in Yorktown, Indiana. With perfect skies and quick, challenging greens, the stage was set for a day full of battles across every division.
In Division 1, it was Brock Anderson (74) who rose to the occasion. Steady play from tee to green earned him the title, holding off a strong charge from Adam Taylor (79). Anderson’s two-over-par round was enough to secure the trophy and close the regular season on top form.
Division 2 welcomed a new face to the winner’s circle as Jason Graf (74) made his debut in style. Graf’s consistent ball-striking and clutch up-and-downs set the tone all day, edging out Cole Thomas (79) for the victory. A newcomer’s statement win to cap the regular season!
The drama continued in Division 3, where Rex Meyer (77) played with confidence to notch an impressive victory. Nick Hardisty (81) finished runner-up, with Brian Stanley (82) just one stroke behind, making for a tightly packed leaderboard.
Division 4 featured a special guest as Scott Morrow (88) traveled in from the Chicago Chapter and walked away with the win. It came down to the final hole, with Brian Ward (89) and John Pfeifer (89) tied just a shot back in second place.
In Division 5, William Jackson (94) continued his hot streak with his second win in as many events. Skylar Nichols (96) battled hard to keep pace, but Jackson’s steady finish sealed the back-to-back victory.
The net games brought even more excitement. The Open Net title required extra holes, with Brock Anderson (72) completing the “double dip” by defeating Nick Hardisty on the first playoff hole. In Senior Net, it was Rex Meyer (67) who stole the show with a remarkable five-under-par round, leaving Scott Morrow (72) to settle for second.
With the regular season officially in the books, attention now turns to the Local Finals on the horizon. The competition for Player of the Year is tighter than ever, and if Woodland Trails was any indication, the finish to this season promises to be nothing short of thrilling.
