Tournament Champions
On Sunday, the St. Louis chapter wrapped up their fall season at the venerable Pevely Farms Golf Club. Early morning frost would lend to a picturesque late fall day as temperatures climbed into the 60s for the 84 player sold out field. 18 holes would not be enough in 3 divisions, as competitiveness took center stage as players worked hard to earn valuable Player of the Year points in the Autohaus BMW St. Louis Player of the Year race.
In Division 1, Mike Flynn made it back-to-back, following up his 1-under par 71 at Far Oaks last week with an impressive 1-over par round of 73, earning a 3-shot victory over John Todd and Josh Willett. Marco Tallerico finished in 4th place with a round of 77.
In Division 2, Todd Feuerhaken returned to the Autohaus BMW Winners Circle, shooting a 1-over par 73 that featured 3 birdies and a closing 35 to secure a 3-shot victory over Chris Turner. Turner finished in 2nd place with a round of 76. Andrew Masters finished in 3rd place with a round of 79, Dave Adams in 4th with an 80, and Paul Wilson, Josh DeJarnette, and Mike Lingenfelter rounded out the top 5 with rounds of 81.
In Division 3, 18 holes would not be enough to determine a winner, as Chris Price and Ralph Allen each finished tied for the lead with rounds of 80. They headed to the difficult par-4 1st for sudden death and Chris Price delivered a clutch par to earn a trip to victory lane. Allen finished in 2nd place, while Schooner Fitzgerald finished in 3rd place with a solid round of 81. Gerald Harsley came in 4th place with an 82, while Dustin Hunter rounded out the top-5 with an 83.
In Division 4, Clay Metzger and Mike Scalera each battled it out all day with both finishing 3 shots ahead of 3rd place finisher Toby Chrzanowski, who finished in solo 3rd with 92. Metzger and Scalera headed to the first playoff hole, the difficult par-4 1st. A bogey was all Metzger would need to secure his first victory on the APT, in the start of his 2nd season on tour. Scalera, while losing the playoff, cemented a good start with 1-2 finishes in the fall season. 4th place went to Jason Shortt, who finished with a round of 93 while the top-5 was rounded out by Matt Telander with a round of 94.
In Division 5, 18 holes would not be enough to decide a champion as Chris Brockmeyer and J Oden Thompson each finished tied with rounds of 98. Thompson earned a par on the first sudden-death playoff hole to secure the victory over Brockmeyer. Wayman Declue, Roger Eberlein and Brian Cope each finished in a tie for 3rd with rounds of 99.
In the Mid-Am Net division, Dustin Hunter made it back-to-back victories, shooting a round of net even par to earn a one-shot victory over Marco Tallerico. Tony Arcese finished in 3rd place with a round of 75, while Adam Haegele, Brian Cope and Clay Metzger each finished at net 4-over 76 to finish in a tie for 4th.
On the Senior Net side, Chris Price broke through with a net 6-under par 66 to best Todd Feuerhaken by a single shot. Ralph Allen and Chris Turner tied for 3rd with rounds of 3-under 69, while Schooner Fitzgerald finished at 1-under to take solo 5th place. Mark Ralph and Gerald Harsley finished in a tie for 6th at even par.
