Tournament Champions
Last Saturday, the St. Louis chapter combined with Mid Missouri to descend on the underrated Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, MO for an event. 40 players teed it up on the fun layout, and players got a beautiful day with ideal scoring conditions as the pop-up storms would stay to the south. Scores were low as golfers took advantage of a perfect day to earn valuable points in the Autohaus BMW St. Louis Player of the Year races.
In Division 1, Matt Minder took advantage of the day, shooting a bogey-free 3-under par 69 to earn his first victory of the season. Michael Clark traded blows with Minder all day, until Minder took the lead for good on the par-5 17th, electing to layup when faced with a difficult decision to go for the green in 2. The smart play payed off, as Minder hit a sand wedge to 4 feet and converted the birdie to take the lead. Clark, who played solidly all day, finished in the runner-up position at 2-under par. On the senior side, Clark earned the victory at 2-under par.
In Division 2, Daniel Black earned his first victory on the APT, firing a 1-over par 73 to earn a one-shot victory. Black’s round was highlighted by an eagle 3 on the par-5 2nd hole, as he held off both Randy Minchew and Taylor Young who both shot 2-over par 74s to finish 1 shot back. Michael Konuch finished in 4th with a 77, while Mike Leonard finished in solo 5th with an 82. On the senior side, Randy Minchew returned to the winners circle with a round of 74.
In Division 3, Jason Stone returned to the winners circle with a solid round of 7-over par 79, besting Dustin Hunter and Chris Turner by 2 shots. Dale Hotop finished in 4th place with a round of 82, while Mackenzie Thorp shot an 11-over 83 to finish in 5th place. On the senior side, Jason Stone finished the double-dip with his impressive 79, to best Chris Turner by 2 and Dale Hotop by 3.
In Division 4, Dolly Buenaventura earned her first win of the 2025 season, firing a 10-over par 82 to earn a 2 shot win over Baxton Owen and Gavin Crane who finished at 12-over 84. Buenaventura stayed steady all day, avoiding mistakes on her way to break back into the winners circle, taking home the double-dip title as well.
In Division 5, Chris Brockmeyer followed up his major victory at Annbriar last weekend with another impressive performance, firing a 15-over 87 to earn a one-shot victory over David Alexander and Jim Seibert. Both men finished one-shot back of Brockmeyer with rounds of 88. The top-5 was rounded out by Mark Smith and Robert Rosenbaum, who shot matching rounds of 92. On the senior side, Chris Brockmeyer earned the double-dip victory.
In the Open Net division, Randy Minchew earned the victory by firing an impressive 4-under par net 68 to earn a one-shot victory over Michael Clark, who finished at 3-under par. Daniel Black was 3rd at -2, while Dustin Hunter and Mackenzie Thorp each shot 1-under to round out the top 5.
