Sutley sweeps the weekend, Mendoza earns his first National Major Title

The APT Open Championship, one of the premier flighted amateur golf tournaments in the United States, delivered a true test of championship golf at the historic Omni Bedford Springs Old Course. As part of the Amateur Players Tour national major schedule, the event brought together players from across the country competing in one of the most competitive amateur golf tour events of the season. Set in the scenic Cumberland Valley, the Old Course—shaped by legendary architects Donald Ross, A.W. Tillinghast, and Spencer Oldham—once again showcased immaculate conditions, strategic design, and a championship-caliber challenge worthy of a national stage.

Beyond the competition, the weekend embodied what makes APT national majors special. Players traveled in from across the country, creating a truly national atmosphere defined by camaraderie, respect, and a shared passion for the game. Competitors pushed each other throughout the weekend while also celebrating each other’s successes—an environment that continues to separate the Amateur Players Tour experience.
