Tournament Champions
The beautiful Cupp Course at Woodside Country Club played host to the Augusta APT on Saturday, May 9. With ideal conditions and a talented field, golfers faced some challenges while battling for position on the leaderboard. Beyond the scores, the event was a celebration of competition and a shared love of the game.
In Division 1, JC Greene and Randy Lamb were tied after the front nine at three over par. Amburgy followed at six over. Lamb took home the win with a score of 77. Greene finished 2nd with a 82 and Amburgy finished 3rd with an 84.
At the turn in Division 2, Jason Tatum was in the lead at even par. Mike Hubert was 2nd at two over par and his son Denver Hubert was 3rd at three over. Denver Hubert ended the round in 1st place with a score of 74. Jeremy Key, Mike Hubert, and Jason Tatum tied for 2nd with scores of 77.
In Division 3, Jeff Johnston was in the lead at the turn at two over par. Bobby Blackmon was 2nd at four over. Austin Hubert, Alex Jones, Doug Robertson, and Evan Williams were tied for 3rd at five over. Robertson finished 1st with a score of 82. Blackmon ended the round tied with Myron Samuels for 2nd place with scores of 84.
After the front nine in Division 4, Jeff Basey was leading at five over par. Russell Loyd was 2nd at six over, while Jeff Fleming and Patrick Shay were tied for 3rd at seven over. Loyd claimed 1st place with a score of 82. Shay claimed 2nd with an 83 and Randy Poplin was 3rd with an 89.
In Division 5, Harold Heath ran away with the win. Heath, who was in the lead at the turn at seven over par, won the tournament with a score of 86. Eddie Jordan was 2nd after the front nine at ten over par followed by Mike Durand in 3rd at eleven over. Jordan finished the round in 2nd with a score of 88 and Doug Moore claimed 3rd with a score of 97.
In the Mid-Am Net competition, Jason Tatum was in the lead at the turn at three under par. Jeff Basey and Austin Hubert were tied for 2nd at two under par. In the end, Denver Hubert got his second win of the day with a score of 70. Jeremy Key and Jason Tatum tied for 2nd with scores of 72.
In the Senior Net competition, Jeff Johnston was leading after the front nine at five under par. Mike Hubert was 2nd at three under, while Jan Gamlin and Doug Robertson were tied for 3rd at one under. Hubert claimed the victory with a score of 67. Robertson finished 2nd with a score of 71 and Randy Poplin ended the round in 3rd with a score of 72.
