Tournament Champions
The Columbus Amateur Players Tour held a tournament on Sunday May 3rd at Apple Valley Golf Course, the course originally built in 1972 and recognized as one of the Top 5 public courses in Ohio by Golf Digest. With windy conditions throughout the day, the course proved to be a true challenge for the 50-player field.
Division 1 – Field of 6
James Pearce of West Jefferson, OH notched his first APT Tour victory, firing a 1-over-par 73—good for a three-shot win. John Link of Delaware, OH finished second, while Lancaster’s Josh Corbin placed third, five shots behind the leader.
Division 2 – Field of 9
Jeremy Roush of Coolville, OH continued his impressive season, shooting a career-low +2 to secure his third victory of the year. Rick Williamson of Wayne, OH posted his lowest round of the season at +4 to finish second, with Cordell Yoder of Millersburg, OH just one shot back in third.
Division 3 – Field of 13
Eighteen holes weren’t enough as Robert Troyer of Big Prairie, OH and David Yoder of Millersburg, OH finished tied at the top. In a one-hole playoff, Yoder drained a clutch 20-foot birdie putt to capture his first APT Tour victory. John Schlabach of Dalton, OH made an impressive debut, finishing third just one shot behind at +9.
Division 4 – Field of 11
Charles Mead of Grove City, OH grabbed the lead early and never looked back, claiming his first APT Tour victory with a +9. Defending 2025 Player of the Year Van Rome of Canal Winchester, OH finished one shot back in second, followed by Frank Jenkins of London, OH in third.
Division 5 – Field of 11
Aaron Holman of Newark, OH earned his second victory of the season with a one-shot win to take the prize money and trophy back to the Fire Station. Aaron Miller of Millersburg, OH finished just behind Holman, while Michael Miller of Wooster, OH Ian Lilburn of Columbus, OH and Quinntin White of Newark, OH were three shots back in a tightly contested finish.
Mid-Am Open Net – Field of 7
James Pearce capped off a strong day by “double dipping,” taking home the victory. Ian Lilburn finished second, with Chris Louth of Urbana, OH rounding out the top three.
Senior Net – Field of 9
Rick Williamson added another strong finish, capturing the Senior Net title. Ed Ruper of Cuyahoga Falls, OH finished second, with Aaron Holman and Lancaster’s Danny Bay rounding out the top three.
The next tournament will be a joint event with the Cincinnati and Dayton Tours at the beautiful TPC River’s Bend on Monday, May 18th. There are only a few spots left for this Elevated event.

The Amateur Players Tour gives golfers of all skill levels the opportunity to compete in one of five divisions. Each tournament awards cash and VISA gift card prizes to winners, while also offering an optional cash skins game, Mid-Am Net, and Senior Net competitions.
