Tournament Champions
Penn National was in amazing shape for this epic battle of skill taking place on the Iron Forge Course. The wind for the fourth event in a row decided to become a factor once again. The front 9 brought a tailwind on most holes while the back 9 presented a bigger challenge with mostly headwind to damper distance. The Players came to play and met this course head on to put forth some amazing competition.
Division 1
Three Competitors were in the Division to battle it out for the trophy. Gunner Redmond (Lock Haven, PA) finished the front 9 with 3 birdies to take the turn at -2. The back 9 gathered a few more strokes but Gunner was able to hold on to win with a final score of 76 to take the top spot. Buzz Buzinski (Alexandria, VA) landed 2nd place with a score of 80.
Division 2
There were 13 players for Division 2, and the competition was close, right down to the wire. William Marlowe (Rockville, MD) was able to edge out the victory by 2 strokes over Mike Vawter (Dayton, MD) with a final of 77. Chad Davis (Mechanicsville, VA) and Christopher Mains (West Grove, PA) tied for third at +9.
Division 3
22 Competitors entered the fray in Division 3. The top two came in after 18 holes only separated by 1 stroke for the round. Jeff Dofflemyer (Hatfield, PA) earned the victory with an amazing round of +3 (75). George Frazier (Mount Airy, MD) came in 2nd just 1 stroke behind at 76. Nate Thomas (Mechanicsburg, PA) finished third with a final of 81.
Division 4
D4 went out with 15 Players in the field, but the day belonged to Rick Muse (Lebanon, PA). Rick cleared the front 9 with any outstanding 1 over par. The back 9 was almost as nice with +4 to seal the deal and earn the trophy with a final of +5 (77). Muse beat the Division 4 field by 7 strokes. The second-place finish went to Scott Zerance (Camp Hill, PA) with a final of 84. Jim Davis (Mechanicsburg, PA) finished 3rdwith a final of 86.
Division 5
The winner of the day for D5, out of a field of 6 players was Russell Burgess (Martinsburg, WV). Russell won the day by 5 strokes after 18 holes with a final of 90. Finishing in 2nd place was Keith Mather(Middletown, PA) with a final of 95.
Mid-Am Net
Nate Thomas (Mechanicsburg, PA) and Chad Davis (Mechanicsville, VA) finished tied after 18 at +1. The tie breaker was a scorecard playoff that gave the trophy to Nate Thomas by a slim margin. Chad and split the prize pool of 1st and 2nd place. Third place went to Christopher Mains (West Grove, PA) with a final of +1.
Senior Net
Lightning struck twice for Rick Muse for his second trophy of the day in the Senior Net (50+) Division. His final in the net calculation was an amazing –9 score of 63. Jeff Dofflemyer and Scott Zerance tied for Second at –4 (68).
Closest to the Pin
The closest to the pin was battled out on hole 6 and the shot of the day belonged to Bill Weyman Mehanicsburg, PA) that measured 10 feet and 11 inches from the hole.
