2026 LOCAL FINALS — FOX HOLLOW CLOSES OUT A MEMORABLE DENVER SEASON
The Denver Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour wrapped up its 2026 local season Sunday at Fox Hollow Golf Course, and Mother Nature delivered a spectacular Colorado day for the Finals.
Bright blue skies greeted the field from the opening tee shot, and there wasn’t a cloud—or any threat of rain—in sight. The temperature steadily climbed throughout the day, reaching 94 degrees by the time the final groups finished.
Fox Hollow was playing under a cart-path-only local rule, but the field managed the restriction extremely well. Numerous players elected to walk, and the pace of play remained strong throughout the day. In fact, several of the first APT foursomes completed their rounds in less than 4 hours and 30 minutes. Having the first tee times of the morning certainly helped, but credit also goes to the players for keeping things moving.

2026 FOX HOLLOW CHAMPIONS
- Division 1 — Rizzul Karki, 73 (+2). Division 1 produced the closest finish of the day, as Karki and Paul Otto both posted 73s, with Karki taking the championship. Karki and Otto headed to the Canyon 1st tee for an on the course playoff that Fox Hollow graciously allowed. It took 5 extra holes where Rizzul and Paul kept matching pars and birdies until Rizzul was able to win the sudden death playoff. This win was Karki’s 4th 1st place finish for the Season.
- Division 2 — Jorge Villegas, 73 (+2). Villegas captured the title by one shot over Joe Barnholt, who finished at 74. Jorge’s score was an exceptional score that was well deserved with a spectacular par save on hole 18.
- Division 3 — Scott Rowley, 73 (+2). Rowley put together an impressive round to finish three shots clear of Matt Gates and claim the Division 3 championship. Rowley saved his best round of the season for the Denver Finals.
- Division 4 — Richard McCoy, 80 (+9). McCoy closed the season with a four-shot victory over Jeff Fulkerson. This win was Rich’s 3rd win of his inaugural season in the APT.
- Division 5 — Michael Elder, 87 (+16). Elder added another victory to his outstanding 2026 season, finishing four shots ahead of Myron “MJ” Jefferson. Elder completed a fantastic season with numerous D5 wins on the APT tour.
- Mid-Am Net — Joe Barnholt, 66 (-5). After finishing runner-up in Division 2, Barnholt went one better in Mid-Am Net, edging Matt Gates by one shot.
- Senior Net — Scott Rowley, 63 (-8). Rowley completed a terrific double-win at Fox Hollow, following his Division 3 championship with a three-shot victory in Senior Net.

THE EAGLE STREAK REACHES 11!
It was up to Divisions 4 and 5 to keep one of the Denver Chapter’s most remarkable streaks alive—and they delivered.
Jeff Fulkerson, representing Division 4, eagled the 10th hole when he holed his shot from approximately 50 yards out in the fairway.
Not to be outdone, Division 5’s Cody Canzona also recorded an eagle on No. 10.
Two eagles on the same hole—and imagine making an eagle and not winning a Super Skin!
Those two shots extended the Denver Chapter’s incredible streak to 11 consecutive tournaments with at least one eagle.
BIRDIES WERE FLYING AT FOX HOLLOW
The birdie parade was impressive as well, and all five divisions contributed to the total.
Nick Cable, Paul Otto, Nick Visocky, Jack Wallin and Thomas Riley led the way with four birdies apiece.
John Langford III, Griffin Wolfe, Ethan Andrews and Matt Gates each added three birdies.
Wolfe, a newcomer from Wyoming, did his damage in a hurry, making three consecutive birdies on holes 10, 11 and 12.
That is some serious scoring at the Local Finals!
CLOSEST TO THE PIN
What a Denver Chapter debut for Thomas Riley!
Playing in his first APT event as a new Denver Chapter member, Riley won the closest-to-the-pin contest on No. 6, knocking his tee shot to just 2 feet, 5 inches from the cup.
Dale Syta claimed the second CTP on No. 16, with his tee ball finishing 9 feet, 2 inches from the hole.

FOLDS OF HONOR 50/50
Drew Gabler was the winner of the Folds of Honor 50/50 Raffle, taking home $192.
An equal $192 was donated to Folds of Honor, making the result especially meaningful because Drew is also a Folds of Honor APT member.
Thank you once again to everyone who participated throughout the season and helped support this important organization.
NEXT STOP: SCOTTSDALE!
The Denver local season may be complete, but there is still some very important golf ahead.
Next up are the 2026 APT North American Championship and Senior North American Championship in Scottsdale, Arizona, where the Denver Chapter will be represented by an impressive 25 player entries this week.

And then—it won’t be long before October arrives and a brand-new season begins.
The 2027 Denver APT season gets underway October 3 at City Park Golf Course, followed just one week later on October 10 by our first visit to the fantastic new Bella Ridge Golf Club in Johnstown.
The 2026 local season is officially in the books, but the next chapter is already right around the corner.
