Mile High Denver Chapter – Amateur Players Tour

Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Club Tournament Recap

Rocky Mountain Players Championship Saturday, July 11, 2026

Scorecards determine the champions. Friendships define the Denver Chapter.

One of the greatest strengths of the Mile High Denver Chapter has never been measured by birdies, eagles, or trophies. It is measured by the friendships that have been built, the camaraderie shared, and the culture that continues to make the Amateur Players Tour feel like family.

Whether members have competed together for years or are playing in their very first APT tournament, they quickly discover that while everyone enjoys competing, the relationships built before, during, and after each round are what keep players coming back. That same welcoming spirit extends throughout the Amateur Players Tour nationwide. Members regularly travel to compete in other chapters and are immediately welcomed by fellow APT golfers who share the same passion for competitive golf, sportsmanship, and friendship. That spirit was especially evident this week as many Denver Chapter members celebrated another exciting milestone.

On Wednesday, players learned they had earned exemptions into the prestigious 2026 Amateur Players Tour North American Championships and Senior Championships in Phoenix this September. Congratulations to all of our exempt players! It did not take long for many to register, and conversations throughout Heritage Eagle Bend centered around travel plans, championship expectations, and the excitement of representing the Denver Chapter on the national stage. Registration for non-exempt players opens on July 30, giving even more members the opportunity to participate in one of the premier events of the APT season.

The excitement carried onto the golf course where another Denver Chapter tradition continued. Lev Abramson thrilled the field by recording two spectacular eagles, extending one of the most remarkable streaks in chapter history—every Denver Chapter tournament this season has featured at least one eagle. Birdies were plentiful as well, with all five divisions contributing multiple birdies during another outstanding day of golf.

The day was made even more memorable thanks to the generosity of tournament sponsor Back Nine Golf Inverness. Owner and APT member Damian Bilbao contributed $500 to the tournament prize pool while also providing every participant with a complimentary two-hour indoor simulator session and special APT member discounts on Back Nine Golf memberships.

Damian’s generosity did not stop there. After winning $104 in Skins, he donated every dollar

back to Folds of Honor.Thank you, Damian, for your continued support of the Amateur Players Tour, the Denver

    Chapter, and Folds of Honor.

We are also excited that Back Nine Golf Littleton will sponsor our upcoming Pinehurst Country Club tournament—just another great reason not to miss one of our favorite events of the season. Players enjoyed perfect Colorado summer weather throughout the day at the beautiful semi-private Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Club. Bright blue skies, a steady breeze, and temperatures climbing well into the mid-90s created ideal championship conditions.

    Division Highlights

Division 1 produced the lowest score of the tournament as Lev Abramson fired a brilliant 2- under-par 70 to capture the championship. Lev’s memorable round included two eagles while Philip Camillo continued his excellent season by finishing second with an even-par 72. Colin Armistead claimed third after shooting 73 and also led the entire tournament with an impressive five birdies. Abramson and Camillo made 3 birdies each during the tournament.

Division 2 featured another tightly contested championship with Hendrik Orlowski earning the title after posting a winning score of 75. Matthew Greene finished only one stroke behind with a 76, while Kevin Moore rounded out the top three at 78. Division 2 also highlighted tremendous scoring as four players, Dylan Cantrell, Kevin Moore, Orlowski, and Emmitt White, shared the division birdie lead with three birdies each.

Division 3 saw Matt Gates continue his outstanding 2026 campaign by capturing another Denver Chapter championship with a winning score of 80. Harold Johnson and Ethan Andrews battled throughout the day before tying for second at 81, only one shot behind. With several players consistently near the top of the leaderboard, the Division 3 Player of the Year race continues to be one of the chapter’s most competitive. Nick Martino, playing in his first APT tournament, made 3 impressive birdies.

Division 4 champion Addie Berube added another victory to her impressive season by shooting 86. Steve Pickens remained within striking distance all afternoon before finishing second at 87, while Van Rubick secured third place with a 90. Addie’s consistent play continues to establish her as one of the Denver Chapter’s most successful competitors this season.

Division 5 featured one of the day’s most remarkable rounds as Raymond Lopez rebounded from an opening-nine 49 with an outstanding back-nine 37 to finish with an 86 and capture the championship. Cody Canzona finished second with a 92 while Michael Elder earned third place with a 93. Raymond also led Division 5 with two birdies during his championship round.
