Tournament Champions
Hawks Creek Golf Club delivered another outstanding tournament with a fantastic turnout and plenty of players ready to compete for a spot in the Winner’s Circle. Every division featured tight races and exciting finishes, with several championships coming down to the final holes—and even playoffs.
Division 1: Andrew Morsinkhoff Returns to the Winner’s Circle!
Division 1 featured a back-and-forth battle between Andrew Morsinkhoff and Cooper Nelson. Both players made the turn at +2, but Andrew caught fire on the back nine, carding an even-par 36 while Cooper finished the side at +1. Andrew’s strong finish earned him a one-stroke victory and another trip to the Winner’s Circle.
Division 2: Tony Khurana Prevails in a Three-Hole Playoff
Eighteen holes weren’t enough to crown a champion in Division 2, as Tony Khurana, Colby Work, and Andy Panwar all finished tied for first.
The playoff began on the 18th hole. Andy was eliminated after making bogey, while Tony secured a par. Colby kept his hopes alive by draining a 25-foot clutch putt to save par.
The second playoff hole moved to the par-3 17th, where both Tony and Colby found the green and two-putted for par, forcing a third playoff hole back on No. 18.
Tony capitalized with a great drive and reached the par-5 green in two shots. Colby reached the green in three but couldn’t recover from a three-putt bogey. Tony calmly three-putted for par to capture the Division 2 title.
Division 3: Willy Syrquin Charges to Victory
Willy Syrquin made his move on the back nine, pulling away just enough to earn a one-stroke victory. Chet Armistead and Joseph Chong shared second place, while Stu Kambury and Blaine Lira finished tied for fourth after another closely contested division.
Division 4: Curtis Baugh Holds On
Curtis Baugh claimed the Division 4 title with a one-stroke victory over Ganesh Seetharaman, who finished runner-up. Rodney Wren and Gary Willis rounded out the leaderboard with a tie for third place.
Division 5: Jonathan Sample Wins Playoff Battle
Division 5 also required extra holes after Jonathan Sample, Dan Strickland, and Stephen Lamb finished tied for first.
Unfortunately, Stephen was unable to continue in the playoff due to the extreme heat, leaving Jonathan and Dan to battle it out.
The first playoff hole on the par-5 18th saw both players make double bogey, sending them back to the 18th tee for a second time. Jonathan held steady, making bogey while Dan finished with a double bogey, giving Jonathan the playoff victory and the Division 5 championship.
