Amateur Players Tour Oklahoma City visited Winter Creek Country Club on Sunday June 29th to play our 2nd elevated tournament of the year. The 2026 APT Championship offered players double the prize fund at $50 per player and double the Rhino Roofing Player of the Year points. Players can count 2 elevated tournaments for their POY hopes. Our last elevated tournament will be the 2026 APT Open Championship at Shawnee Country Club on August 16, 2026.

Winter Creek Country Club was in great shape and the Pro Trey Selling helped us put on a great tournament for the 48 players that signed up to play. Players really liked the course but with 25 mph winds gusting even higher, the course was a challenge for all of the them. APT has 5 divisions that all handicapped players can win. The winning scores ranged from 75 in division 1 to 93 in division 5. APT Oklahoma City is where the best amateur players come to play.

Come join us and play great courses win great trophies and play with even greater people who play on the tour. APT Oklahoma City | Best Amateur Golf Tour In OKC

Division 1- Gossett buries 8-footer on third playoff hole to claim D1

Four players teed it up in the top division, all chasing double points. Taylor Gossett seized the early lead with a 2-over 38 on the back nine, then added a steady 1-over 37 on the front—just one bogey—for a 75. Corey Cupp sat one back at the turn and opened the front with a birdie to pull even, but three bogeys dropped him two behind. Back-to-back birdies on 7 and 8 brought him level again. His even-par 36 forced a playoff.

Both parred the first hole and bogeyed the second. On the par-4 third, each reached the green in two. Cupp faced 40 feet; Gossett stuck his approach from 70 yards to eight feet. Cupp’s bid came up short. Gossett rolled in the winner—his fourth tour victory this year.

Division 2- Richard pulls away on front nine for his 3rd straight D2 title

Ten players started the day chasing the D2 crown. Kirk Washburn and Rob Richard shared the early lead with matching 3-over 39s on the back nine. Jordan Wesley posted a 41 on the back 9.

Richard seized control on the front with a birdie on the 2nd—his 11th hole of the day. Washburn stayed close but a string of bogeys dropped him into a tie for second with Wesley at 82. A late double bogey tightened the final margin, but Richard was in command down the stretch, closing with a 6-over 78 on a windy day.

Division 3- Guest Torrance recovers from rough start on 2nd 9, to win D3 by three

There was a field of 10 players in D3. Ethan Torrance, a guest player, started his first tournament shooting 43 on the back 9 to take the early lead. Tour veterans didn’t let Torrance get out to far with DeVon Oku shooting 44 and stood 1 back, while POY candidates Stan Wilson and Darrin Stewart were 2 shots back both shooting 45. Torrance started the front 9 making a triple bogey, bogey on the 1st & 2nd hole to open the tournament to other players. The best front 9 was Randy Miller who shot a 41, but his first 9 was a 46 to shoot a 88 in the gusting wind. John Hahn fresh off of his promotion to D3 shot a 42 on the front 9 after a 46 on the back 9 to finish in tie for 3rd place with Randy Miller, shooting an 88. Stewart finished with a 41 on the front 9 and 87 total to finish in 2nd place. Torrance over came the first 2 holes on the front 9 with an impressive birdie on the par 3, 4th hole to finish with a 41. Torrance’s round of 84 won the tournament by 3 shots.

    Division  4- Spencer holds onto a five-shot cushion after 9 for three-stroke D4 win

Fourteen players chased the trophy and $420 winner’s purse. Jacob Spencer opened with four pars and a birdie on the back nine, posting 2-over 38 and building a five-shot lead at the turn. Mark Helms and Jeff Edzards sat tied at 43. Travis Buckner and Neil Hill trailed by seven with 45s.

Spencer was 5 over through his first six holes on the front but held on. Buckner and Edzards closed with 43 and 45, respectively, to tie for second at 88. Spencer stumbled home with triple bogeys on 8 and 9 but his 85 was good for a three-shot victory—his second win in three tournaments since joining the tour in 2025.

Division 5- Cogburn wins fourth of season, second straight

Five players teed it up in D5. Jared Cogburn grabbed a one-shot lead over Josh House with a 45 on the back nine. Max Flowers sat four back at 49 and never factored despite posting the day’s best front nine—47—for a 96.

House took a one-shot lead after the 4th hole on the front, but trouble on 6 and 7 handed it back to Cogburn for good. House finished one back at 94. Cogburn’s 93 secured the win—his fourth this season and second in a row. He played 13 tournaments before breaking through at last September’s tour finals and has been rolling ever since.

Mid-Am Net- Taylor Gossett captured the net contest for players who are 49 and under with a 1 over net 73.

Senior Net- 10 players entered the field for players who are 50 and over. Chistopher Lindenau slipped by Mark Helms with a net 2 over 74 to Helm’s net 3 over 75.

    3-game

D4/ 5- Chistopher Lindenau led a field of 14 players playing the 3 game. He finished at 1 over.
