Tournament Champions
Bailey Ranch Golf Club in Owasso, Oklahoma, hosted the APT Tulsa Golf Chapter on Sunday, June 28, with an added bonus prize pool courtesy of APT Tulsa member Michael Foster and Another Round Bar. Players were greeted by steamy summer conditions and wind gusts approaching 40 mph, making for another challenging day of competition.
Division 1
Russell Gardner of Tulsa captured Division 1 honors by defeating fellow Tulsan TJ Eckert by three strokes. Gardner appeared to be in complete control of the tournament until an untimely quadruple bogey on the difficult par-4 12th hole allowed the field to close the gap. Eckert, coming off a runner-up finish the previous day at The Club at Forest Ridge, was unable to capitalize on the opportunity and once again finished second. Gardner quickly regained his composure, closing with six consecutive pars to secure the victory.
Division 2
Nate Barnoskie staged one of the day’s biggest comebacks. Trailing by six shots after 10 holes, Barnoskie played the final eight holes in 1-under par to overtake a snake-bitten Tyrell Palmer and claim the Division 2 title. Palmer continued his recent steady play with a solid 3-over-par 39 on the front nine, but his round began to unravel on the 13th hole as he struggled to maintain his position atop the leaderboard. Barnoskie took full advantage, recording birdies on holes 11 and 13 before finishing with four consecutive pars to earn a three-shot victory.
Division 3
Fresh off a runner-up finish the day before at The Club at Forest Ridge, George Purdy closed the door on Zach Capps’ challenge by playing the final five holes in 1-over par. Purdy’s steady finish earned him the Division 3 championship, along with the bonus prize money and hardware. Capps remained within striking distance throughout the round but could not make up enough ground and settled for second place. Michael Foster rounded out the top three with his second consecutive third-place finish.
Division 4
Dewitt Jennings returned to the winner’s circle after surviving a tightly contested battle with Mark Chamberlain, Troy Smith, and Khurram Pervaiz. Smith appeared poised to improve on his playoff loss at Forest Ridge the previous day, but a costly triple bogey on the par-3 17th hole ended his chances. Chamberlain and Pervaiz each held a share of the lead before faltering in the oppressive heat. Jennings remained steady down the stretch and secured the Division 4 victory by two strokes.
Division 5
Steve Lumpkin continued his outstanding play by claiming his second consecutive Division 5 victory, cruising to a seven-shot win over the field. Lumpkin posted a steady round of 92 to finish comfortably ahead of runner-up Jerry Crabtree. The two remain locked in a close battle for the coveted Player of the Year title. After the heartbreak of losing last year’s championship on the final hole of the Chapter Finals at Shangri-La, Lumpkin’s impressive weekend performance has established him as one of the favorites to capture the 2026 title.
Mid-Am Net
TJ Eckert claimed Mid-Am Net honors for the second consecutive day, continuing an impressive weekend despite narrowly missing back-to-back Division 1 victories.
Senior Net
Mark Chamberlain earned the top spot in the Senior Net division with another solid performance.
